Gold tells the Snow Queen it looks as if she’s won. She asks why he’s being so reasonable and he offers a deal. He says when the spell hits at sundown, it will bring out the worst in each other. She says everyone will tear each other apart. He reminds her that it won’t affect Elsa, Emma or him. He says once everyone else is gone, he’ll devote himself to ripping her heart out. She asks what he wants and he says – to leave. He says if his wife and grandson Henry are allowed to leave with him, she won’t have to face him. She tells him to enjoy his trip.

Emma, Elsa, Mary, David and some others watch as the spell is heading their way. David says they should shelter in the vault but Regina says magic doesn’t respect doors and there’s no way to hide. Emma says they all just need to leave town. They stand before the ice wall and ponder using brute force. David grabs an ice pick and heads for the wall. He plunges the pick in and is thrown back. Regina says the wall doesn’t seem to like brute force. A crack breaks open and Elsa sees her sister’s snowflake necklace. She grabs it up and says it’s a miracle.

She tells Emma it’s a sign they will win. Emma tells her parents to go tell families to get away from each other. She tells Hook to go to the waterfront and see if they can get people out that way. Regina goes to warn Robin and wants to take Henry with her. Emma tells her she and Elsa will go with Gold but Elsa says Henry should go with them since they’re immune. Regina refuses and Henry tells Emma he’ll go with Regina. They look as the spell advances on them.

We see what looks like a shipwreck and a bottle on the opening credits. Belle tells Elsa and Emma the spell looks to be unstoppable but she may have found a way to undo the effects. She says you can make a counter-spell from their hair. Elsa says she thinks her sister was under that spell. Elsa says she has something of Anna’s to use for the locator spell. Belle says there is mirror dust embedded in it. They figure out if they can find Anna, they can use her to make the counter-spell.

Belle says she’ll find the fairies and get them working on it. Emma tells her it’s a long shot and that Anna may be older than they think. Back in Arendelle, we see Anna and Kristof thaw out. They see gold straw and decide they think Rumple has the urn and not Ingrid. She says Elsa is the only one that can rule Arendelle. The jerk duke bursts in and says he’s the new king since Elsa is gone and froze them all. Kristof says they surrender but when they go to capture them, they fight back.

Anna gets the drop on one, they lock the Duke and his entourage in the room and run away. Hook and Gold watch the spell come in and Gold reminds he still has his heart. He shows him the sorcerer’s box and says Granny’s diner has been infested with fairies. He calls them flying pests and says they need to get them all. He says if Hook gets them all in the box, he can break his link with the dagger and leave town with his powers intact.

Gold says Belle is with the fairies so he needs Hook to stand by while he gets Belle out of the way. Hook says that would kill the chance of a cure and Gold says he’s taking Belle and Henry and isn’t worried about everyone else. He tells Hook to suck it up because he has to do as he commands and says they’re in this together. Regina watches Robin with his son and then she and Henry head into camp. She tells him they need to scatter because the spell is coming.

Robin calls for Will and says they need to break camp ASAP. She sends Henry to help the men. She says nothing will stop it and says he and Henry are the only ones who believe in her. She says his hatred, once the spell hits, may kill her. He tells her he cares for her and kisses and holds her. Elsa brings the necklace and Emma pours some of the spell liquid on it. The necklace glows and they follow the light to look for Anna.

It leads them to the library. They head inside. Back in Arendelle, we see Anna and Kristof running into the woods. They made a clean escape but Anna says now they need to get the urn back from Rumple. She says she read in her mom’s diary about a wishing star. She says maybe they can use it to wish Elsa back from them. She says they tracked it to a pirate named Blackbeard. Kristof says evil wizard versus evil pirate. Anna says pirates are better because you can buy them off.

Down below the library in the mines, the light gets brighter and they come to a barrier. Elsa says she must be right on the other side. Emma says the dust and ice look recent. Elsa wants to try and break through but Emma is scared of another cave in. Kristof and Anna find Blackbeard’s ship and then the pirate himself. He welcomes them to come on board his ship.

Anna asks about buying the wishing star from him. He says they can have it for the right price. Kristof asks what that price is and he says his weight in gold. Anna asks how much he weighs then agrees. She tells Kristof this is going well. The Duke is there and laughs evilly. He beat them there. Emma consults Grumpy and Regina on the mine shaft. Leroy says he can clear it in a couple of hours.

Regina says they don’t have a couple of hours. The fairies call David and say they may be able to use the mirror dust from the necklace to make the antidote. The chose is save the town or try and find Anna. Gold and Hook get to the diner and Gold sends him out back to wait and says he’ll know when to act. Gold goes in and the fairies aren’t happy to see him. He says he needs to borrow his wife.

Belle tells him they’re close and asks him to be patient. He says he’ll just hang out and keep her company until she can go. They tell him they are working light magic and remind him he’s dark but he wants to stay put.

Elsa looks at the necklace’s light and Regina says they should give the necklace to the fairies now. Emma says they need to think of an option where they don’t lose anyone. Regina tells Emma they are leaders and they need to make the tough choice of who to save. Mary agrees with Regina and says they need to give the town the best chance. David also agrees. Emma goes to talk to Elsa.

Elsa hands over the bag the necklace was in but kept the necklace for herself secretly. She heads down into the elevator into the mine shaft alone. Regina and the others head over to Granny’s with what they think is the necklace. Blue asks for it and Emma hands over the pouch but finds it’s pebbles and not the necklace. Regina curses and says you can’t trust blondes. Belle says it’s too late.

She says without Anna there, they can’t make the antidote. Emma says she’s going to go help Elsa find Anna since that’s their only shot. Gold watches this with interest. Elsa heads back to the blockage in the mind and Emma is there and calls to her but she throws out her magic and says she has to try it. She blows the blockage out of the way and they step through onto a beach.

Elsa asks where she is and Emma says magic isn’t always perfect. The necklace is still glowing. Elsa asks if something happened to her and Emma says they need to deal with the problem at hand. The Duke says they got there just in time and Anna tells Blackbeard they had a deal. He tells her when she’s angry she looks so much like her mother. He says he met them both.

He says he even sold them the wishing star but Blackbeard says a wishing star can only be used by those with a pure heart. She offers Blackbeard money if he has another but the Duke says she’s penniless. He tosses some gold to Blackbeard and tells Anna where she’s going she won’t need money. She asks where, he says death and Kristof says that’s not a place. The Duke says they’ll find out soon.

The Duke says they are in the spot where their parents ship went down and says maybe their bones will meet her parents. Blackbeard has a trunk hauled out and says the trunk will make sure they die without anyone being able to save them. Anna tells the Duke that Elsa will save her and come kick his butt. He says he controls the kingdom and says if Elsa hasn’t gotten out of the urn in 30 years, it’s too late.

Anna is shocked to find out they were frozen for 30 years and wonders why her Aunt would unfreeze them at this point. Elsa tells Emma she still have faith. The necklace stops glowing and Elsa asks Emma if she’s really gone. Kristof and Anna are in the trunk at the bottom of the sea. Water is leaking in and he finds a nail to cut through their ropes.

Elsa tells Emma she gave it to Anna for her wedding and says it was the last gift she ever gave her. Emma sees the spell coming and tells her they need to go help the others. She says they may still be attacked even if they’re immune. Elsa cries and says she’ll never know what happened to her sister. Kristof struggles to cut his ropes and gets free. He works on untying her next.

He holds his breath, ducks under the water and works on her ropes. The trunk is nearly full and he looks around. She recites her wedding vows and says they’ll marry before they die but he tells her no, that they’ll get out of this. Elsa tells Anna she’s sorry she didn’t find her and says she won’t give up hope. She wishes Anna was with her now.

The necklace begins to glow again and they look around. They wonder if it’s Sarah’s spell. Kristof tells Anna he loves her and they wait for the water to rise but then there’s a whirlpool of some sort. Emma and Elsa see the whirlpool and it flashes and knocks them flat. There’s a trunk on the shore, it opens and out pops a soaking wet Anna and Kristof.

The sisters run for each other and embrace. They try to figure out what’s going on and Emma says it’s like she wishes it. Anna tells Elsa her necklace must have been the wishing star,. Emma says they need to get Anna to the fairies. Elsa hugs her sister and Kristof complains he’s cold and wet. Up out of the water pops a bottle with barnacles on it and some sort of paper in it.

Belle tells them Anna is on the way and asks Gold if he thinks they can do it. He wants to take her someplace safe just in case. They leave and that’s Hook’s signal to suck the fairy magic into the hat. Anna should also be immune because the spell already got her once. They rush to Granny’s. Blue is almost done with the spell when Hook comes in with the hat. The fairies scream.

Blue hides in the kitchen and sees the other fairies are sucked into it. She hides behind the counter trying to be quiet. Hook is there with the hat and tells her he’s truly sorry. She screams as the hat begins to suck her in. Emma, Elsa and Anna get to Granny’s and decide they think it’s Sarah that did it. Hook hides behind the counter with the device looking very upset at what he was forced to do.

Gold sends Belle to the shop and says he’s going to cast a protection spell so no one can get to her. He promises her they will be fine and sends her inside. He casts a spell around the shop as Hook walks up and tells Gold that Belle truly loves him and asks why he’s choosing power. Gold says he doesn’t have to choose. Hook asks to be done but Gold says he won’t free him.

He says by morning, his plan will be complete and Hook will be dead. He tells him to go enjoy his last day. Kristof and David share a hug in greeting and then says hi to Anna. He introduces Mary and the baby and also says Emma is their daughter. She’s confused. David says to explain his plan. Mary and David tell Emma to lock them into the cells at the jail. Mary says she knows Emma will save them.

David tells her they believe in her. Emma locks David into one cell. They tell her she has to take her baby brother. She says they trust her with her brother. She locks her mom in as well. Elsa tells Emma she has wonderful parents. Hook shows up and asks for a word. She asks Elsa to take her brother and she hands over the baby.

Mary cries and touches his head. Hook tells Emma in private that he’s going to chain himself up but wanted to see her one more time. She cries and tells him she’s not good with goodbyes and kisses him. He holds her and they hear the spell drawing near. He tells her goodbye and walks out. She takes her brother back from Elsa and Kristof tells Anna it’s not long now. Kristof is cuffed to the desk.

It’s nearly on them. David and Mary touch hands. At her house, Regina tells Henry she’s sorry they never found the book’s author. She tells him she’s going to seal him in the Mayor’s office so no one can get to him. He tells her to have faith and they hug. She says she wishes she was as brave as he is. He tells her to go and says he’ll be okay. They swap I love you’s and she closes the door and seals him in.

She tells Robin she’s headed for her vault and tells him to get away. He says he’s going to go chain himself to a tree. She says she has to seal herself in the vault so she can’t get to anyone. Robin tells her he’s not afraid of her but she says he should be. She rushes to her vault and magically seals herself in. David tells Mary not to be afraid and says they are two halves of one heart and says no spell can break what they have.

The spell rolls into town and everyone waits to see what will happen. Sarah holds her hands up and guides it onto the town. It rolls down with pieces of mirror falling all through the streets, into the air vents and everywhere. Emma ducks down and protects her brother. Anna and Elsa hold each other. Mary and David stare into each others eyes. We see David’s eyes look as if they shatter. He and Mary glare at each other like enemies.

THE END!
