Tonight on the USA Network Rush returns with an all new Thursday September 11, Season 1 episode 9 called, “Dirty Work.” On tonight’s show Sarah’s desire to find a sperm donor complicates things with Rush.
On the last episode when Rush reconnected with Sarah, he found that she had changed and wasn’t the same person as he remembered her; Alex may be in over his head. Did you watch the last episode? If you missed it we have a detailed recap right here for you.
On tonight’s episode Sarah’s desire to find a sperm donor complicates things with Rush, while Alex tries to control the fallout with his wife. Elsewhere, Sarah encourages Eve to think about future possibilities, but J.P. devastates them when he resurfaces.

RECAP:
Rush’s client Rebecca turned out to be a tougher case than he thought. Not only had this teenage socialite left home but she was pregnant. So Rush found himself delivering a baby in a seedy little apartment.
The baby was born not breathing so Rush had to call Harrold to bring them to the hospital. Meanwhile he had to open the baby’s airwaves himself from the back of a speeding ambulance. Luckily he was able to do so though it really was a close call. And, not to forget; it was also impressive what he did. Even the ER doctor on call thought so.
But Rush didn’t exactly have time to wait around to hear all the accolades. Sarah needed him and when it comes to Sarah – she comes first. And right now he wants to support her through a very difficult time. Because of Sarah’s cancer and the effects of it – she wants to put her affairs in order. As in she’s harvesting her eggs and is currently on the lookout for sperm donors.
Rush tried to throw his hat into the ring for that and was firmly rejected. Sarah doesn’t want to cloudy their already messed up situation by having a baby with him. So she wants to look at other possibilities and of yet Rush is continuing to pretend that’s alright with him.
Rush later received a phone call from his father. Warren claimed to have a friend in trouble and they needed Rush or at least someone as discreet as Rush. And when went to this Gordon’s house he figured out why they needed someone like him. Gordon was driving drunk and hit a tree and while he’s fine – his passenger on the other hand suffered a mishap. Gordon’s mistress was dangling halfway out of the window shield.
Gordon had left her there since sunrise and all he wanted from Rush is for the other man to patch her up. Again chance was on Rush’s side and he managed to get Joanne from out of the window but he then told the couple that she couldn’t be moved until her wounds healed a little more. Which Gordon found inconvenient seeing as his wife is due back from her trip any day now.
Rush hadn’t liked Gordon nor did like the way Gordon said his father talked about him. And yet he accepted Gordon’s money like he would have with anyone else. Then afterwards he had to drop off his father’s share because Gordon, a wealthy patron to the hospital, suddenly wanted to donate an extra million dollars. And so his “ethical” father who never once seemed to step a foot out of line accepted the money as well.
Rush was probably more disappointed with that than he was with anything else. His father’s righteousness used to be the one thing he could count on!
But Rush has been running into disappointment left, right, and center these days. He was talking to Alex and he was telling his father that he was prepared for fatherhood. Though Alex didn’t believe him. He doesn’t think Rush is ready for the day to day grind in taking care of a kid.
Alex has been going through some things of his own lately so maybe that’s why he isn’t being supportive. The girl he had cheated with showed up at the hospital. Apparently, she thought they keep hanging out and was a bit put out when he corrected her. Then when she hadn’t liked how rude he was to her – she showed up at his house and demanded money from him.
Alex paid her off but it was a close call. His wife could have easily found out.
As for Rush, he had to deal with Gordon a second time because the other man had stubbornly forgot about his own injuries from the car accident. The seatbelt he was wearing had ruptured his ribcage and was bleeding out from the inside. So Rush took care of the overflow, but the rest was best to leave for the hospital.
He arranged for Gordon to check in at a hospital under an assumed name and that took care of that. After what he did for Gordon, his father came him wanting to both apologize for things he’s said about his son and say thank you. The reason he’s always been hard on Rush is because he naturally expected more from his son. He never wanted Rush to end up like someone like Gordon.
And Rush was able to forgive Warren. He realized a while back that his father hadn’t been the one to betray him and that it’s his own fault he’s no longer working out of a hospital. So he said that to his father and it got them back to semi-friendly state.
The men agreed to take their relationship day by day but there’s something else that’s going to stop them from being back on familial terms. And that’s Warren’s wife. The same wife Rush slept with a few weeks ago.
Then after everything he been through in one hectic day and that includes going back to the hospital with the teen mom who had tried to run away with her baby (her parents had wanted to put the baby up for adoption) once he had finished warning her about reckless behavior – Rush realized what he wanted in life. And Eve made sure to tell him not to mess it up. So Rush made his case to Sarah about being her baby’s father and he was even willing to agree to something more if she wants it.
Rush is actually pretty serious about Sarah and though it took him a minute – he now knows how much she’s worth it. So he flushed all of drugs down the toilet and is prepared to deal with detox.
But Eve ran into trouble after she returned home. JP had pushed himself into her apartment and so before he had the chance to rape her – she shot him with the gun she got from Manny!
