Noah and Allison, while guilty of an affair and possibly of a murder (depending on how the police investigation goes), have come so far since they first started their affair that by now they frankly have too much to lose. Hence they’ve been lying about what happened during those first weeks of their relationship. They’ve each downplayed an event here and there. And sometimes they’ve chosen to blame the other entirely for what happened. Even if it was over the simplest things like who made the first move. So there is no love lost between them. At least not anymore and if there ever was rose tinted glasses involved – they’re officially off now!

A long time has passed from when they first took that romantic getaway to the remote Block Island to suddenly throwing each other under the bus. But went wrong? How did this relationship sour so badly?

In the early days of their affair, Noah used to turn to Allison as a balm for his wounded feelings and lost adolescence. You see he never got a chance to be a kid. Noah had spent most of his teenage years looking after his sick mother. Then he met his future wife at college and they got married right afterwards.

So, really, Helen is the only woman he’s ever been with. Or so he claims. And if it’s true that leads to why he found Allison to be so thrilling and worthwhile breath of fresh air. Not that there weren’t a few hiccups in the beginning. The whole should they/ shouldn’t they was kind of drawn out process for them. Though it end up into a full blown affair all the same.

They met, they flirted, and then they slept together! It was pretty simple!

But Allison appears to be the worse for wear afterwards. She’s the one that’s fidgeting while she’s being questioned and she’s also the one that appears to have gone through complete behavioral and attitude change since that infamous summer.

The Allison she describes herself as being during the start of the affair is someone who was timid and a bit reclusive. Yet that woman is now gone. And it’s almost like she turned into the femme fatale Noah was making her out to be. She’s actually playing it hot and cold with the detective questioning her!

And that isn’t the smartest thing to do. Said detective, a Detective Jeffries, has been hitting the former couple with question after question. When it was really as preliminary as he said – he wouldn’t have let them go after a few minutes. So whatever the crime is – Noah and Allison are the biggest suspects.

Therefore she shouldn’t be playing games with anyone at the moment much less with a man looking for a reason to arrest her and her former lover. And, more importantly, neither of them should be lying. Jeffries knew they were lying to him the second Noah and Allison’s version of events didn’t match up.
So if they did commit a crime together – they suck on the cover up!

Noah described their visit to Block Island as a romantic interlude and Allison said they ended up getting a fight after she got cold feet and couldn’t sleep with him like they planned. They even left the island earlier than they plan because of that. Apparently the one thing they can agree on is that Allison was a hot mess back in the old days. Noah at the time just thought she had a dangerous quality to her. But Allison claims she was cutting herself back then. That’s how depressed she was over the loss of her son.

An at the time, Noah had appeared to be very sympathetic about what she was going through and their relationship developed after she believed him to be the one thing to help her get over her grief. But Noah never mentioned her boy. Not once to Detective Jeffries.

So clearly their relationship wasn’t as deep and meaningful as either of them thought it was. Not if they’re now claiming they barely knew a thing about each other!

THE END!
