Bobbi Kristina Brown: Cissy Houston Fights Bobby Brown ‘To The Grave’ to Keep $20 Million Inheritance For Her Family

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition update has been a mix of statements claiming she is awake and improving, while conflicting allegations state her status hasn’t changed. Bobby Brown is at the heart of it all, as he fights Pat and Cissy Houston “to the grave” in court over Bobbi Kristina Brown and the $20 million estate.

To recap Bobbi Kristina’s tragedy, the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found unresponsive and face down in her bath tub. It’s been labeled as a “drowning incident,” but it’s a strong possibility it could be a case of attempted murder. Police have reportedly been investigating Bobbi Kristina’s surrogate brother turned husband, Nick Gordon. Authorities found signs of foul play noting bruises and cuts inconsistent with resuscitation efforts. Nick was also caught cleaning up blood stains by the couple’s friend, Max Lomas, who was present when she was discovered.

Since Bobbi was found on January 31, she has been in a medically induced coma. Attempts to take her off the machines helping her live initially resulted in seizures. The family put her back on life support and since then, the Brown family and the Houston family have been fighting over the decision to completely remove Bobbi Kristina Brown from life support.

Here is where the Bobby Brown and Pat/Cissy Houston fight comes in… Whitney Houston left her entire $20 million estate to her Bobbi Kristina Brown. Nick and Bobbi then allegedly married after Whitney’s death, but Bobby Brown’s lawyer stated that they were never officially married. Without a will left by Bobbi, Pat Houston remains the executor of the estate with Cissy Houston and Whitney’s brothers due to inherit the remaining money in the event Bobbi Kristina Brown dies. However, Bobby Brown is legally in charge of Bobbi Kristina’s health. All decisions – including whether or not Bobbi remains on life support, are left to Bobby Brown.

It’s concerning, as Pat and Cissy Houston seem to be blinded by money. Both stand to inherit what remains of Whitney Houston’s estate when (and if) Bobbi Kristina dies. Pat nor Cissy have seemed to care much about Bobbi Kristina’s well-being in the past. Whitney and Bobby’s only child has been rumored to struggle with drug abuse issues, but the family has never stepped in to help or even attempt an intervention. Cissy Houston also told a New York radio station that Bobbi’s family had run out of hope and stated she was “alright” if Bobbi Kristina Brown died.

Leolah Brown has been extremely open in the past with details about the drowning incident investigation, and verbally attacked Pat Brown, calling her a “money-hungry beast.” Leolah also stated Nick Gordon was being investigated for his part in Bobbi’s condition, and claimed Pat Houston had “something” to do with Bobbi Kristina’s drowning. What that involvement is, is still a mystery.

The case took a wild turn when Bobby Brown told a cheering crowd at concert that Bobbi was awake and “watching” him. Some took it as a spiritual message, but Bobby Brown’s wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, later clarified stating, “She has made it out of ICU, opened her eyes and started a rehabilitation that will be long and hard.” An attorney for the Brown family also issued a statement explaining, “Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process, and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”

Cissy Houston fought Bobby’s claims and issued her own statement that claimed Bobbi Kristina Brown’s brain damage is “irreversible” and she remains “unresponsive.” Cissy added that Bobbi could remain in this alive-but-vegetative-condition for “a lifetime,” and she has been pushing Bobby Brown to pull Bobbi Kristina off life support for months. Pat Houston has also been bullying the grieving father to “end the nightmare,” which would also free up the $20 million inheritance.

The latest Bobbi Kristina Brown update finds another fight is brewing, this time in court. As CDL covered, Bobby Brown filed papers with a Georgia court for the guardianship of the remaining $20 million estate. Cissy Houston is “seething” according to Radar. “Cissy Houston will fight this to the grave,” a family source told the media outlet. “Since day one, all of the Houstons have been waiting for Bobby to try and get Bobbi Kristina’s money and they knew it was just a matter of time. No one is surprised that he is making a grab for her money.”

People magazine’s source explained Bobby Brown’s move for guardianship of the estate was to pay medical bills, and do “what’s best for his daughter.” This appears to be a wise move if all the allegations that the Houston family’s greed are clouding their judgement are true. “This is not about him taking her money,” the source elaborated. “He has money of his own. This is about making sure that she will have the best care for as long as she needs. … The truth is that he wants to get her the best care she can possibly get, that’s all.”

Both families have asked for continued prayers for Bobbi Kristina, but their motives are clearly leading to a huge fight. Do you think Bobby Brown has a chance and getting guardianship? Are the Houstons simply out for the money? Let us know in the comment section below.
