The Bachelor 2105 premieres this evening with an all new season to ABC with a whole new Monday January 5, season 19 premiere episode. On tonight’s show, Chris Soules, a wealthy businessman and farmer from Iowa, meets 30 bachelorettes.

For those of you unfamiliar with the show, the series revolves around a single bachelor (deemed eligible) who starts with a pool of romantic interests (typically 25) from whom the bachelor is expected to select a wife. During the course of the season, the bachelor eliminates candidates, with the bachelor proposing marriage to his final selection. The participants travel to romantic and exotic locations for their adventures, and the conflicts in the series, both internal and external, stem from the elimination-style format of the show.

Tonight’s premiere of The Bachelor kicks off with host Chris Harrison on the red carpet at a live Bachelor viewing party. First Chris shares a clip introducing the 2015 Bachelor Chris Soules, AKA Prince Charming. Chris and his family mans several hundred acres of farmland in Iowa, he loves living a slower paced life in the Midwest and it is extremely important to him that he finds someone who cherishes that. Chris has been training with his ex Bachelorette Cody to get “in shape for the ladies” and he is excited to find the woman of his dreams.

Next Chris Harrison interviews Bachelor alums Sean and Katherine on the red carpet at the live viewing party. He asks them how their lives are back in Dallas, Sean gushes that “they love being an old married couple and life is great.” Katherine laughs that they are “super boring and they spend New Year’s Eve on their couch in sweat pants.” Sean hopes that as the next Bachelor Chris Soules finds someone as special as he does. Next Chris Harrison interviews Marcus and Lacy of Bachelor in Paradise, the couple confirms that they are still engaged and are planning a Summer 2015 wedding.

Next on the red carpet Chris Harrison interviews Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her new fiancé Josh Murray. Andi brags that when they go out their fans always stop them to say how glad they are that she chose Josh. Chris asks them when they are getting married, and they both tiptoe around the question and insist that they are getting married, they just haven’t started planning the wedding yet because they want to “enjoy each other for a while.”

Up next Chris Harrison interviews previous Bachelor winner Nikki Ferrell, who just broke up with Juan Pablo. Nikki explains that the reason she was so cold in interviews and the ATFR show was because Juan Pablo was uncomfortable being in the public eye and she wanted to “stand by her man,” she admits that they finally have broken up. She blames it on their jobs and lifestyles and living on opposite ends of the country. Nikki explains that she is not a quitter and she tried everything, but “it is what it is.” Nikki insists that she doesn’t have any hard feelings – and she and Juan Pablo were just living two different lifestyles.

Now, it’s finally time for the 2015 Bachelor Chris Soules’s journey for love to begin, Chris arrives in Los Angeles and heads to the Bachelor mansion. He is willing to do whatever it takes to find love and bring it back to his home in Iowa. Up first he meets with the Bachelor stylist to try on clothes and get tailored for suits – he jokes that it is harder than crop season in Iowa. This season will be a little different from previous seasons, Chris Soules will be living right next door to the Bachelor mansion and all of the girls that are competing for his heart. He admits that he is worried about meeting more than one awesome women – and not being able to choose which one he wants to be with.

It’s finally time for the cringe-worthy limo entrances. The first car full of girls arrive at the Bachelor mansion where Chris is waiting for them outside. Up first is a 27 year old waitress named Britt, she hugs Chris for what seems like forever and begins crying. Chris gushes that she is beautiful – and she gives him a piece of paper, a coupon for “Free Hugs From Britt.”

Whitney, a 29 year old fertility nurse, is the next bachelorette to greet Chris. She brags that she has been watching the show since high-school, and he is the only reason that she even signed up to be on the show, after a brief hug she runs inside. Kelsey greets Chris next, and he tells her he “can’t wait to get to know her inside.” Megan, a 24 year old make-up artist, is next out of the limo – she introduces herself to Chris and heads inside. Ashley, a freelance journalist, is up next – she promises Chris that she will talk to him later inside.”

The next limo pulls up, and 33 year old Trina climbs out and introduces herself and heads inside. Up next is Reegan, a human tissue sales person. She opens a med cooler – with a fake heart inside of it, Chris jokes that before the night is over he might need an extra heart. Tara arrives next, and she doesn’t have on a dress – she climbs out of the limo wearing daisy dukes and cowboy boots. When she heads inside, all of the girls make fun of her. So, she slips out the back door and puts on a dress and sneaks back in to the limo and makes another grand entrance to show Chris that she can be country, and dress up.

The next girl to arrive is 25 year old producer Jillian, she shows Chris her guns and brags that she has been working out and then rushes inside. Ashley, a 24 year old hairstylist, arrives next – she tells him that she found a lucky penny on the way there – and puts it in his shoe for him to give him good luck. Kaitlyn arrives and after hugging Chris she laughs that he can “plow her field any day.”
After meeting the first fifteen girls, Chris Soules heads in to the mansion to chat with the bachelorettes. Chris and the girls are all baffled as to why he is in the mansion already because there are only fifteen of them. Chris gives an awkward speech and then one of the girls tells a horrible joke about walruses and seals. Chris sits down with some of the girls – and they all speculate about whether there will be more limos arriving.

Britt heads outside on the patio with Chris to get to know him, he laughed that he has his “Free Hugs” coupon. She reassures him that she gave him the hug coupon because she want to be the shoulder that he cries on whether he is sad or happy, just like a normal wife or girlfriend would be. Britt gushes that she wants to raise a family in a small town and Iowa looks like the perfect place to do so. Chris Harrison arrives with the First Impression Rose – and tells Chris Soules he has to choose which of the fifteen girls he wants to give it to.

Whitney heads outside to sit with Chris and gets to know him, since she is a fertility nurse she jokes that she “makes babies every day.” She confesses that she has been counting down the days until she got to come on The Bachelor and meet him – and she has been marking the days on her calendar at home. Next Chris heads outside with Amanda – a 24 year old ballet dancer. While she is outside with him, the other girls laugh at how big her eyes are.

Chris Harrison heads in to the mansion and tells Chris that he has to come outside – and reveals to him that there are more girls on the way. Another limo arrives – and women begin climbing out. The girls in the house all rush to the windows to watch and they are not happy when they realize that there are more than 15 girls.

The 15 girls that are already in the house, try to block the door and not allow the new girls inside. They laugh hysterically as Ashley, a real estate agent arrives in pig nose. Kelsey watches in horror as the girls keep arriving and their “dresses get shorter and the gimmicks get cheesier.” Britt begins to get nervous once the house is full of 25 women, and then it gets even worse – when another limo arrives full of girls. Outside Chris Soules grumbles “this is getting ridiculous.” As Chris meets the final five girls, he confesses that he has never seen so many beautiful women at once. The final bachelorette to arrive is Jade, a cosmetics developer, she hugs Chris and tells him that she can’t wait to talk to him inside.

Chris heads inside to start getting to know his 30 girls, he heads outside with Ashely and she reveals that she used to be a dance instructor. She puts a pair of tights on underneath her dress and begins teaching him how to break dance. They sit down to chat afterwards and are quickly interrupted – it becomes a free for all and all 30 girls begin trying to get some alone time with Chris Soules before the rose ceremony. The odds of Chris being able to remember their names are slim to none – there are so many girls fighting over him right now, we’re having a tough time getting their names straight.

Outside, Ashley S. is creeping around the patio spying on Chris. She interrupts his chat with one of the other girls – and gives her a rose and tells her that she can have the rose and go inside because it is her turn to talk to Chris. Even though it is super awkward – Chris agrees talk to her and Ashley begins rambling about riding horses in sunflower fields. Afterwards she heads out back to hang out with the camera guys and picks a pomegranate that is hanging from a bush. Inside – the crazy is coming out as well, Tara is getting wasted and can’t stop hiccupping and burping.

Chris steals Britt and takes her outside and gives her the first impression rose, and then they share the first kiss of the season. Afterwards, Britt gushes that she can’t believe how much she really likes him. They head back inside and the other girls are clearly not happy to see that Britt got the first impression rose. Chris Harrison arrives, and says it is time to steal Chris away so that they can prepare for the rose ceremony.

It’s finally time for the rose ceremony – the women line up and Chris Soules prepares to hand out the roses. Britt already received the first impression rose so she is safe. Chris gives roses to: Kaitlyn, Jade, Samantha, Ashley I., Sandra, Nikki, Kelsey, Megan, Amber, Julie, and Becca. With only half of the roses left, Chris suddenly rushes out of the room – leaving all of the girls puzzled as to what is going on.

After a brief anxiety attack – Chris heads back inside and continues handing out the final roses – the girls are shocked when Chris hands a rose to drunk Tara. With just a few roses remaining, panic begins setting in when the girls realize that there is a good chance that they aren’t getting roses. Crazy Ashley is not happy where there is only one rose remaining, but to every one’s surprise Chris Soules actually gives her the final rose.

The girls who didn’t receive a rose begin filing out and saying their goodbyes. Amanda is shocked that Chris chose “crazy drunk girls over her” and she cries to the camera guys outside of the house. Kara is humiliated that she didn’t get chosen, and Kimberly breaks down in tears as well when she gets outside of the house. Meanwhile inside the remaining women celebrate the fact that they received roses – Kimberly hears them cheering and gets upset and runs back inside. She tells Chris that she needs to talk to him for a second.

The season premiere of The Bachelor is officially over, and unfortunately we will have to wait for next week to see if Kimberly manages to convince Chris Soules to give her a rose and let her stay.

THE END!
