“The Young and the Restless” spoilers are in and it looks like Jeffrey Christopher Todd could be on his way back for another stint on Y&R. If you remember, Jeffrey played Tobias Grey earlier in the year and was murdered by Det. Harding (Chris McKenna) for knowing too much about the cabin murders. It was said on social media today, that he had been contacted for possibly additional work, but with Tobias dead – who would he portray?
Twitter has been on FIRE today about Jeffrey’s possible return to play none other than Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) son, Scotty Grainger. Scotty has been missing on the show since 2006. Ever since his departure, fans have wondered when they would bring him back. In fact, he hasn’t been mentioned on the show in a few years- not even through step-dad Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) cancer scare or his brother, Fenmore’s (Max Ehrich) drug problem.
Jeffrey Christopher Todd retweeted a post that stated if Miles Gaston Villanueva can go from a priest to sexy Prince Luca Santori, why can’t Jeffrey come back as Scotty? Immediately, fans were on board and couldn’t wait to see if the show picked up on the idea. If they recast Scotty, they could bring Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) along for the ride. Sheila loved (err was obsessed) with Scotty from the time he was an infant until – well now; fans presume. It would be a great way to give Lauren, Sheila, Michael, and Scotty a front and center storyline.
Another possibility is that he could be cast as Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart) lover. Greg has expressed interest in the writers giving him a gay lover on the show, instead of forcing him to be in heterosexual romantic relationships that never work out. He wanted Kevin to come out as gay – and show how a loving family would process his sexuality and eventually come to terms with it. He felt it could help others that are going through the same experience, and allow him to be truer to his own sexual preference.
One thing is for sure – either Scotty or Kevin’s gay lover – Jeffrey Christopher Todd is a great addition to the “The Young and the Restless” cast. The best part is, maybe they can get away from the quarterly doppelganger storylines. If the rumors are correct, it looks like Sheila and Scotty could be returning just in time for February sweeps.
