New General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Jeff Webber (formerly Richard Dean Anderson) may be coming to Port Charles to deal with two of his daughters, one of which he knew nothing about. A new ABC casting notice seems to indicate that showrunners are looking for a new Jeff.
The GH casting call is for a white male in his late 50s to early 60s who is handsome, dynamic and charismatic for a recurring role . That sure sounds like Jeff Webber and given the secret sister storyline with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), it makes sense.
When Naomi Dreyfus (Robin Riker) begged Franco (Roger Howarth) not to tell Liz the truth about Hayden, she told him it would devastate Liz to find out that her dad was a cheater and her parents’ perfect marriage was a lie. Franco didn’t care and said he would tell her anyway.
We know that he didn’t get the chance because Liz went into code blue. New General Hospital video spoilers show that Franco will have to reveal the sister secret to Hayden when he asks her to donate blood to save her sister. Hayden will give the blood, but things will be tense.
Once Hayden and Liz both know the truth, they will want answers from their mutual father Jeff. Liz will be hurt and angry that her father cheated and Hayden will want to meet her real father for the first time. That means Jeff Webber needs to return to Port Charles.
No doubt Naomi will be wrapped up in this as well. Liz took a liking to Naomi even though she doesn’t like Hayden but Liz will like her less once she knows she was sleeping with her father who was cheating on her mom. It would be great to see all three ladies face Jeff together.
Jeff will, no doubt, be upset that Naomi lied to him about her pregnancy and kept his daughter hidden from him for more than 30 years. Wrapped up in all this will also be Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) since she’s the one that spilled the secret and she’s Jeff’s ex-wife.
Assuming this casting call is for Jeff Webber, we’re wondering whether he’ll come back with Liz’s mom or we’ll discover that Jeff and his wife are on the outs. If Jeff will be recurring with no wife in his life, that opens him up to romantic possibilities with baby mama Naomi.
Jeff will want to stick around to get to know Hayden since he’s been denied knowledge of her since her birth. Some long simmering GH spoilers hinted that Liz would end up with more family in town. At the time, that limited it to Liz’s known siblings like Sarah and Steven.
Now it looks like Liz’s family has expanded much more with the addition of a new Webber we never knew about (plus her mom). All of this should lead to some great plotlines, tense interactions, and a blossoming of a relationship between secret sisters Liz and Hayden.
When these two first discover they are siblings, neither will be enthusiastic. They also won’t like that Naomi and Jeff were cheating and how long the secret has been kept. But once they face the inevitable and acknowledge they are family, they will learn to like each other.
