The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers state the CBS soap has finished another year of fun storylines. They gave several actors a chance to shine in 2016. Take a look at our list of outstanding performers and vote for the one you liked best.
First, we have to give props to Scott Clifton (Liam). The Bold and the Beautiful provided an interesting opportunity for Clifton this year. After Quinn (Rena Sofer) kidnapped Liam and held him at the cabin, Clifton played “Adam.” The differences between Liam and his amnesiac counterpart were noticeable from the get-go.
Liam is normally brash and controlling. He has some good qualities as well, but B&B fans haven’t seen them much lately. Liam is too busy yelling until he gets his way. Adam, on the other hand, was a gentle soul who focused on trust. His childlike wonder was a joy to watch.
Regardless of how you felt about that storyline, Clifton proved that he has a lot to offer. The Bold and the Beautiful also gave John McCook some meaty material as Eric. When Eric took a stand against his family, McCook did a fantastic job of expressing his anger and disappointment. His rant against Liam was delivered perfectly as well.
McCook helped many viewers root for Quinn and Eric. They were an odd couple at first, but now they have plenty of supporters. McCook’s portrayal made us get on board with Eric and Quinn’s tender romance.
Next, we have Pierson Fode as Thomas. He had a nice arc that took him from a womanizer to a loving father. Some B&B fans still object to the way Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) and Thomas’ relationship came to be. They can’t turn back time, but at least Fode sold us on Thomas’ transformation.
When Thomas learned the truth about Douglas’ paternity, Fode showed off his acting chops with some emotional moments. Of course, Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) also got some of those. He conveyed Ridge’s protectiveness and rage with ease.
Ridge is often belligerent and he was a character we loved to hate at certain points in 2016. That’s a credit to the great work Kaye did. It’s clear that there’s some stiff competition, but a choice must be made. Who’s your pick for best actor this year?
You can vote for Scott Clifton, John McCook, Pierson Fode or Thorsten Kaye in our B&B poll. We’ll give you updates as more news emerges about 2017’s stories.
