Dutch Velders was back in the fold however she wasn’t necessarily helping anyone much less Eph who really needed some guidance on tonight’s episode of “the Strain”. Eph and Dutch had taken to hunting strigoi in the park and they weren’t doing so out of pure vengeance. They were actually risking their lives at night to get a living strigoi just so Eph could have something to experiment on. So Eph’s biological warfare against the strigoi was still in play and he was constantly experimenting on creatures that used to be human.

However, Eph and Dutch weren’t the only ones risking their lives because they wanted to find a way to defeat the strigoi race. There was also Fet. Fet had taken to going out at night as well and he was using tracking devices to see where the strigoi were going. So Fet still believed that there was something out there that was in charge and that the latest strigoi that had taken over from the Master was the newest threat, but he couldn’t prove anything until he could track the strigoi back to the ring leader. And his grand plan for once he found the new leader was just as dangerous as tracking the strigoi.

So everyone was basically taken a gamble and death seemed like an afterthought. But there were some that simply couldn’t hide from their fate. Like Eldritch Palmer. Eldritch was slowly dying and everyone around him knew it. Even Thomas Eichorst who he had visited him for a few moments. Eichorst had wanted to check up on the special delivery that was coming to town and so his main concern had been how long it was going to take for their package to arrive from Eygpt. And Eldritch had tried to tell him the news yet he had become light-headed lately and passed out before he could share the information.

Fortunately, Eichorst hadn’t been concerned and had called for the nurse to help revive Eldiritch. So Eldritch had come to eventually and he had shared the information that both Eichorist and his new associate wanted to know. Yet, neither of the men had been concerned by Eldritch’s shaky constitution and naturally Eichorist hadn’t offered him the white or any other substitute though he had said goodbye. He had said that their association had been beneficial and he had told Eldritch goodbye as if he was never going to see or deal with him after he got his hands on the package from Egypt.

And so Eldritch’s final chance at getting a longer life was the professor. The professor had all but admitted to Eldritch that he had a cure for the white and so Eldritch needed the professor more than the professor needed him. At least, that’s what the professor thought when he had initially rejected Eldritch’s suggestion of a partnership; however, recent information from the Lumen meant the professor couldn’t exactly scoff at offers anymore. Not when the book mentioned something about the Egyptians.

The professor and Quinlan had been going over the book. Though, technically scans of the book when they read about the Egyptian plagues. So they were trying to figure out what the book meant when Quinlan said that the book would make more sense if they saw it in its original text and instead of scans. The professor however had been hesitant to get the actual book or even allow Quinlan access to it again. That it after he had stolen once before. And so the only reason the professor eventually relented was because he needed help.

Fet’s idea to track the strigoi had meant he wasn’t around much of time and that he was purposely away at night. However, Fet had found something on his one-man-mission. Fet had tracked the strigoi into the tunnels and there he had seen that there were using bulldozer to open new tunnels so that their “friends” could enter the safe zone from Central Park. So the latest rash of attacks in the safe zone had been a strategic attack by the strigoi that had wanted to make a point. They had wanted to say that no one was safe and that even the safety zone could be reached.

But Fet knew how to take care of the strigoi he found in the tunnels. He knew that he had to inform Justine where the strigoi nest was in order for them to destroy and it turns out that Fet wasn’t the only with a plan. There was also Eph who had figured out how the strigoi were communicating with each other. So slowly the humans were finding out more and more about how strigoi have planned their attacks since the Master was weakened yet the professor and Quinlan did come to understand what the Egyptians were talking about when they mentioned the plague. The plague wasn’t a plague; it was actually what the Egyptians called the strigoi.

The strigoi had apparently gained an army and had them surrounded at one point when they were able to trap the ancient in charge in a silver sarcophagus along with his worm. So that meant Egyptians had known enough about the ancients that they knew about the worm that carried their essence and, to be frank, their situation back then was eerily similar to what was happening in New York. Yet, there were just a few things that neither the professor and Quinlan could figure out on their own. They knew that an ancient could be trapped in a silver casket so as far as they were concerned that was the only way they could defeat the master though what they didn’t know was how to find the Master.

The Master was staying underground since he had almost died and the men knew the only way they could find him was to make an alliance with Eldritch. Eldritch desperately wanted to live and so the professor promised him just a fraction of the cure he was looking for. But Eldritch was willing to take that deal because that was at least better than nothing. Which was what the Master has been giving him.

BLURB: The Professor and Quinlan may have finally realized how to destroy the Master once and for all on tonight’s episode of “The Strain”.
