#TheWalkingDead starts with Carol in the pantry selecting items from the shelf. Later she goes to gather nuts in the woods and a walker staggers over. Carol puts a machete in her brain and then goe home and takes a shower.

Later she roasts acorns and makes some cookies. She takes the cookies to a neighbor who smiles at her. The kids all get cookies too. She goes to Tobin’s place and hands him some. He says the kids are hungry but she says she foraged a lot.

He says they’re pink and she says it’s beets for sweetness. He says he’s not a beet guy and she says put it in your mouth jerk. He takes a bite and says it’s the best beet and acorn cookies I’ve ever had. She asks if he’s screwing with her and he says they’re amazing.

They hear people calling from the fence and the RV pulls into the neighborhood. Rick says get Olivia to meet us at the pantry. Michonne tells Sasha they have enough food for a month and Rick says have everyone meet in the church in an hour.

He tells Carol they’re going to have to fight. He drives off in the RV and she looks at the last cookie in her stash. Thunder rumbles in the sky. Morgan approaches and says it’s been weeks since they talked. Carol is annoyed at him.

He asks why didn’t she tell the others what he did and why Eugene and the others didn’t. She says she told them not to. Morgan says she doesn’t have to carry what I did. Morgan says if she keeps it secret it’s like she did it too.

Carol says it’s not and tells him to go. Carol lays a cookie on Sam’s grave and walks off angry. Rick tells the Alexandrians about the deal with the Hilltop community then says they have to take care of the Saviors. He says they would come for them anyway.

Rick says the conflict with the Saviors is inevitable and says they can fight now while they’re strong. He says they have to win and says they feed themselves by doing this but says it has to be a group decision. We see Jesus ironically sitting at Rick’s right side. Does that make Rick God?
Morgan asks if Rick is sure they can beat them. Rick says he’s sure. Morgan says just tell the Saviors that. Rick says they won’t compromise. Morgan says just give them a chance to make the choice and Rick says no they can’t leave them alive.

Morgan says life is possibility. Rick says they always come back. Morgan says they come back when they’re dead too. Rick says talking to them first is a mistake. He asks who wants to take Morgan’s approach. Aaron stands and says no.

He says what happened with the wolves won’t happen again. Rick says it’s settled. Rick says they just have to do this and kill them all. Tara looks uncomfortable since that was the Governor’s approach. Rick says not all of them have to kill but all have to accept it.

Morgan looks unhappy. Carol lies in bed later awake. She gets out a journal and writes down more about the number of people she’s killed. It’s up to 18. Maggie and Glenn talk about what’s best and safer for them.

Maggie says she’s the one who made the deal even though it wasn’t her idea. She says she has to come along. Carol is on the street smoking and Tobin is on the porch and asks if he can have one. She says no and sits by him then passes the cigarette to him.

He says he’s worried about tomorrow. She asks if he’s going and he says no but he knows she is and is worried about her. He says the things she can do terrifies him. She asks how he thinks she can do these things.

He says it’s because she’s a mom. He says it’s not the cookies, it’s the hard and scary stuff. He says that’s how she can do it. He says she has strength and says she’s a mom to most of the people there. Carol asks if she is to him too.

Tobin says no. He says she’s something else to him. She kisses him. She says it’s not tomorrow yet. Abraham is packing weapons and tells Rosita he’s leaving her. She asks why and he says it’s the way shit it. Rosita says he can’t go unless he tells her why.

He says he thought she was the last woman on earth when they met and says – you’re not. He walks out. Rosita breaks down crying. Eugene is there and offers her a cookie. She slams the door in his face. Andy describes the layout of the savior compound to Rick, Glenn and the gang.

Tara tells Denise she loves her but she doesn’t have to say it back. Denise says she’ll say it when she comes back. Tara says she’s leaving for two weeks straight from there. She asks Denise to come and she says she wants to but can’t since she’s the doctor.

She promises to tell her when she gets back. Andy tells them it’s a big place but he’s only seen part of it where he unloaded things. He tells them where he thinks they took the Hilltop people. Glenn thinks they have an armory they can take.

Next day, they load up in the RV and two other vehicles. They get out and all agree to meet back here in two hours. Gabriel is with them. He says he learned for a reason. Rick asks why he’s still wearing his collar and Gabriel says it’s who he was.

He says it’ll be harder for them to see me in the dark. They split up and head out. Rosita tells Carol she almost stood up at the church and ratted out Morgan for hiding that psychopath. Carol says he doesn’t want to kill. Rosita says they don’t want to kill either.

She says she won’t tell anyone. Maggie loads ammo into her sidearm. Walkers are in the woods. Glenn takes out several along with Heath. They look at them and try to decide if one of the heads will do. Heath tells him he’s been lucky not having to kill before.

Glenn says he hasn’t had to kill people yet either. Heath asks if he’s nervous. Glenn says you ever see something so bad that you couldn’t close your eyes or you’d see it and you couldn’t eat. He says killing someone has to be worse than that.

Glenn says he’s nervous about the whole thing. They take the head of a walker to try and sub in for Gregory’s head. They’re back together making plans to scope it out and take on the place a couple of hours before dawn.

He says if they don’t feel good about it, they’ll back off and try again later. They agree to roll at midnight. Carol asks Rick why Maggie is there and he says it’s her choice. Carol wants to stay with Maggie but Rick says they need her inside looking for the armory.

Carol says Maggie shouldn’t be there at all and Rick agrees to let her stay with her. They have three heads and they do makeovers on them to see which is closest. Jesus says the nose is wrong on that one. Rick punches the head in the face.

He says Andy can tell the Saviors that Gregory fought back. Andy says the Saviors are scary but they have nothing on Rick.

The Jeep pulls up in front of the Savior complex. Andy shouts out that it’s done. He has the head and they tell him to bring it in and call him shit brain.

A door opens and two armed guards come out. He tries to hand them the bag and they tell him to take it out. He does and the guards check it out. Andy says broke his hand so he broke Greg’s nose.

The guard looks at the head and then makes it talk and says – little bitch broke my nose, wah. They toss the head aside and tell him he learned. The guard says he’ll get his guy and they can go home then come back next week with more stuff.

One guard goes in and Daryl creeps up and kills the other. The gang runs in from all sides and gets ready. Andy waits alone with the others out of sight. The other guard comes out with Craig and he’s knifed in the back.

They head into the compound while Andy helps the Hilltop guy get away. They all go in guns up. The place is a satellite facility so it’s like a bunker. They head to a door and Rick opens it gently.

They creep forward. Rick sees a sleeping guy and puts a knife through his temple so he dies quietly. He wipes off the blood and they move on. Heath and Glenn go to another door. Inside Glenn kneels with his knife. He holds it over the guy’s face and sinks it into his head.

That’s Glenn’s first human kill ever and he cries a bit. Heath goes to the other guy. Glenn stops him and he does it instead. That way Heath can stay “clean.” Glenn looks at a board of Polaroids of dead people in the room. They move on.

Andy, Jesus and Craig sit in the car. Tara is with Gabriel outside in a car. She asks if he’s still a priest and he says he is but Rick and Carl taught him about weapons. Tara says she lied and told her GF she loved her for the first time.

She says Denise caught her thinking of something else so she lied. Gabriel asks what she’s covering and Tara says she’s done this before. He asks if she loves her and Tara says yes so Gabriel says it wasn’t a lie. The team moves on inside.

Sasha tests a door that’s locked and Abraham says honey pot. Sasha breaks into it. A guy comes out of a bathroom and attacks Abraham. Sasha knifes him but the guy hits a fire alarm. Outside, Carol goes running but Maggie wants to go too.

They argue and Maggie says they need our help. A walker comes because of the noise and Carol takes it out then tells Maggie she’s staying behind. Jesus wants to go in and help and he tells Andy to take Craig back to Hilltop.

Jesus and Tara are ready to go in. Rick guns down a bunch of people and he, Michonne and Daryl press on. Aaron kills a buy with a bottle and says it’s us or you. Rosita takes out a guy who’s about to shoot Abraham.

The Saviors are now swapping automatic fire with them. Two run out and Tara takes them down but one only has a shoulder shot. Aaron is kicking butt. They kick in doors and kill tons of people. Glenn and Heath are in the armory.

They grab guns and drill the door full of holes to take out the guys outside. Then it’s silence. They open the door and spot a pile of bodies. One guy is alive and goes to shoot them but Jesus takes him out. He says this is the next world.

Gabriel goes and tells the one with the shoulder wound to drop his gun. He calls him Padre and asks if he’s going to kill him. The guy says you’re as dead as me and says they’re all dead. He says blood is coming. Gabriel quotes some scripture, shoots him dead, then says amen.

The gang goes outside and finds daylight. They look around. Looks like none are left alive. There’s a yard of vehicles. Glenn asks if Heath wants to come back but he says he and Tara are headed out on their run. We see someone doing welding back at Alexandria.

Glenn tells Tara goodbye. She and Heath head out in a small RV. Looks like Morgan is building a jail for Alexandria. Rick looks around and Michonne says which one was Negan. They hear an engine and a guy on a motorcycle takes off. They shoot him of it and Daryl attacks him.

It’s Daryl’s bike. The guy says just do it like you did everyone else. A woman’s voice comes on the walkie talkie the guy has and says all of you lower your weapons. Rick says come out so we can talk. The woman says we can talk but we’re not coming out.

She says they have Carol and Maggie and asks if they want to talk about that.

THE END!
