“The Young and The Restless” (Y&R) spoilers from a new CBS promo video for next week’s episodes show us Phyllis Abbott (Gina Tognoni) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in an intimate embrace. There’s a bottle of wine there and they’ve got their hands on each other and it looks hot.
Too bad it’s not what’s really happening. This is another cleverly edited CBS trailer to get us excited that “Philly” is finally happening. We’ve all seen the writing on the wall and it seems inevitable that Billy and Phyllis will end up in bed. But this is not that moment.
Instead, The Young and the Restless spoilers say what’s more likely is that this is a bad nightmare/daydream that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has after she walks in on Phyllis and Billy in his room at the Genoa City Athletic Club. When Victoria comes into the room, she’ll see Billy tucking in his shirt and zipping his pants.
And yes Phyllis was in the room with him but her clothes are on and there’s nothing going on. But to Victoria, who is already on edge because she and Billy are on the outs, it looks bad. And, to be fair, Billy should probably not be changing in front of Phyllis.
In the same Y&R spoilers video (see below), you see Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) asking where Billy and Phyllis have been and what they’ve been doing. It sure sounds like an accusation that they’ve been up to no good and he’s onto them.
However, this is more likely something to do with Jabot and the internet security project or some other business issue – or just general annoyance that they’re late to his big foundation fundraiser. Jack does NOT suspect anything is going on between them.
Y&R spoilers ask will Victoria tell Jack that she saw them together in Billy’s room? Whether Victoria zones out sitting at the fundraiser or wakes from a nightmare later, the scene from the video is what she’ll likely be imaging was going on between Billy and Phyllis.
The bottom line is, Y&R showrunners are trying to trick us into thinking we’re going to see Billy and Phyllis finally give into the chemistry that’s been building. Y&R fans are excited about the pairing and Gina Tognoni all but confirmed it will happen in a recent interview with Michael Fairman.
But Tognoni also said it is something that will develop slowly. This video is abrupt and shocking. Don’t take the bait Y&R fans!
