Tonight’s episode of Billions kicks off with Bobby Axelrod standing in an empty football stadium. He heard from an inside source that the team will be up for sale, and he’s interested, even though the sale hasn’t been officially announced yet.

Chuck and Wendy are in therapy, they discuss the children, and how the split has been affecting them. Chuck explains that his son Kevin wanted Chuck to promise he and Wendy would get back together. Wendy is impressed by the response that Chuck gave Kevin, and tells him that he’s a really good dad. The therapist is thrilled by her compliment and thinks that they are making progress. Then, Wendy does a complete 10 – she thinks it’s time for Chuck to find himself a place of his own.

Axe is still obsessed with his new rival Todd Krakow. Apparently, Todd has been tweeting about a high-stakes poker game called the Alpha Cup. Wags warns Axe that Todd wins every year, and they should probably sit out the poker game.

Lawrence Boyd meets up with Bobby Axelrod so that they can compare notes, now Chuck has opened a case against him, and he wants Bobby to help him get out of it. Of course, the only reason Chuck started the case was so that the attorney general couldn’t fire him. Now, Chuck has his work cut out for him actually finding a case against Lawrence Boyd. At his office, Chuck’s team tells him that Boyd is squeaky-clean and they can’t find anything on him except for a flight attendant possibly overhearing him talking on a plane and making an inside trade from her eavesdropping.

Taylor is interested in the Wallstreet Charity Poker Tournament, she reveals to some of her coworkers that Axe invited her to play at his table. Dollar Bill freaks out, he storms in to Bobby’s office and screams at him for giving up his chair at the tournament.

Todd shows up at Wendy’s office unexpectedly, he brought her a gift, a coupon for $5,000 worth of spa treatments. Todd wants Wendy to come to the poker tournament with him, he is willing to pay her to be his “coach.” Basically, he just wants her to rattle Bobby by being on his team.

Taylor is surprised when she learns that Axelrod tracked down her old online poker username, and that’s why he invited her to play with him at the tournament. It turns out that Taylor quit playing poker years ago, and she doesn’t want to play in the tournament, she says that the game makes her nauseas.

At Chuck’s office, he has brought in McKayla the flight attendant to question her about the inside trading. McKayla has no idea that what she did was even illegal, and she’s scared to death about going to prison for it. She will probably be more than willing to pin all the blame on Boyd.

At home, Bobby’s wife overhears him on the phone, working on the Boyd case. She’s suspicious about Bobby’s true motives behind helping him. She doesn’t think that he’s doing it all out of the kindness of his heart.
Bryan helps strap McKayla up with a camera and a wire, she’s about to work as a stuardess on a plane with Boyd.

It’s time for the Alpha Cup, Taylor reluctantly agrees to play for Bobby, but she warns him that she may not win. All the big players are there. Bobby arrives with his wife on his arm. Todd Krakow shows up with Wendy as his coach. Even Boyd shows up to make an appearance before he hops a flight out of town.

It’s not long before Todd and Bobby wind up at the same table, and the tension is palpable. Bobby challenges Todd to bet half a million dollars on his hand. Meanwhile, Wendy is coaching Todd, she warns him that he has a tell, and he needs to start blinking more and to relax his facial features. Of course, everyone in the place is gathered around Bobby and Todd’s table to see who wins. Todd wins this hand, but Bobby wants to go double or nothing, and bring Taylor in to the game.

Lara and Wendy have an awkward run-in at the bar. Lara asks Wendy how she’s handling the divorce, and makes an obvious point of letting her know that she and Axe’s marriage is doing great.

Taylor is miserable at the poker tournament. She whines to Bobby that she doesn’t want to take down Todd, he’s clearly a sad guy, and has been bullied his whole life and is now trying to compensate for it.

There are only two people remaining in the tournament…Taylor versus Todd. Todd rubs it in Taylor’s face that Bobby bet double or nothing on her. But, Krakow doesn’t rattle her. Everyone gathers around and watches Taylor and Todd’s hand, it’s tense. Todd calls a time out so that he can talk to Wendy, Todd says that he can’t get a good read on Taylor and needs Wendy’s help. Wendy corrects him, he doesn’t need her help, he needs to let go of his anger and just play the game.

Todd finally returns to the poker table, and he continues to call Taylor names and bully her. So, he eats crow when she reveals that she has a pair of 10’s, and has just won the tournament and Bobby’s double or nothing bet that Todd would lose.

McKayla returns from her flight with Boyd, and she did better than any one anticipated. McKayla actually managed to catch Boyd on camera having sex with his company director’s wife. Chuck is thrilled by the discovery.

Bobby’s office is in good spirits after their big win the night before, however Taylor isn’t too thrilled. She returns the trophy that she won to Bobby, she doesn’t want it, she doesn’t want to be rewarded for breaking another human being.

Chuck and Bryan call McKinnon in to the office, they show him the recording of his wife Shayleen sleeping with Boyd. After he sees his wife sleeping with Boyd, he’s more than happy to help them build a case against him.

THE END!
