Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Radlan is nothing like Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole Middleton. In fact, the Los Angeles-based yoga instructor has been keeping a relatively low profile ever since it was announced that her daughter is dating Prince Harry.
Meghan took her mother Doria to the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in Toronto so she could spend some time with her and Prince Harry. Clearly, Doria is very supportive of her daughter, but unlike Carole Middleton she’s not trying to make a name for herself or ride on the British monarchy’s royal coattails. She’s also not someone who even wants to be in the spotlight for that matter. Doria Radlan is a modest, free-spirited clinical therapist, as Meghan once described her. And unlike the Middleton family, she hasn’t tried to profit on her daughter’s fame, either. Doria doesn’t look for paparazzi attention and she doesn’t talk to the press, either.
Many fans believe that Doria Radlan is the only family member that Meghan Markle can trust in her life right now. After all, both her brother Thomas Markle Jr. acnd her sister Samantha Grant have done nothing more than humiliate Meghan by talking about her private life and dirty laundry to the press.
If that weren’t enough, Samantha even hinted that she would love to star in a reality television show of her own. Clearly, Meghan’s siblings and their fame-hungry ways are going to hurt her more than help her in the long run and especially when she marries Prince Harry and becomes an official member of the royal family. And that’s the last thing she wants to deal with right now.
At this point, there’s a strong possibility that Meghan will want her mother Doria to move to London once she marries Prince Harry. Her mother is her only support system and with all the changes that will be going through her life, she’ll want Doria to be close by, especially if she plans on getting pregnant soon after her royal wedding. Soon enough royal observers will find out just how Doria will adjust to the spotlight and if she is in fact the anti-Carole Middleton. It will be hard not to compare Doria to Carole, especially if Kate Middleton’s mother continues to push herself and her family towards the spotlight, as they have been doing for several years now.
