General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason (Steve Burton) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) will continue their mastermind investigation. Now that they know a traitor’s running around Port Charles, they’re shifting the focus to him or her. Finding out who betrayed Faison (Anders Hove) is what’s crucial right now – according to Faison, Jason owes his life to the traitor. Drew (Billy Miller) will also help with their mission to uncover the truth.
Let’s consider some clues about the traitor. Jason has repeatedly pointed out that they don’t know if it’s a man or a woman. GH definitely wants to remind us of that female option. Kim (Tamara Braun) immediately comes to mind if we’re indeed dealing with a woman here. She’s already lied a few times and General Hospital spoilers say more of her deception will be exposed soon.
When confronted by Monica (Leslie Charleson), Kim admitted that she knew Drew might be living in Port Charles. It was no coincidence that Kim and Oscar (Garren Stitt) moved to PC. Kim was seemingly shocked to see someone who looked like Drew at Thanksgiving, but no one (but the GH writers) knows the whole story.
Faison wanted Drew to take over Jason’s life, so the real Jason was to be eliminated after the memory implant. When Faison learned Jason wasn’t dead after all, he was furious that the traitor had double-crossed him again. Notice he said “again.” That means letting Jason survive was the second betrayal. What was the first one? Could it have been when Kim fell for Drew and tried to fight the plan?
It’s possible that Kim was in on all this from the get-go. Perhaps she was supposed to keep an eye on Drew in San Diego or even seduce him as part of a setup. When Kim developed genuine feelings, that could’ve been a serious problem.
Kim might’ve tried to stop the evil plot that was in motion, but then along came Oscar. That would’ve given Faison and the mastermind team some leverage to keep Kim in line. She’s got medical knowledge, so maybe she was forced to cooperate with the memory mapping study later.
Kim might’ve been ordered to give Jason a lethal injection, but what if she used her contacts to send him to that clinic instead? She wouldn’t have wanted to put Drew in danger or even let Faison know what she’d done. That would’ve put her own life as well as Oscar’s at risk.
Jason wasn’t treated very well at the clinic, but it was better than being dead. Kim might’ve hoped she could eventually fix this mess, but setbacks could’ve led to that five-year delay. It’s not easy to undo this kind of damage to people’s lives, especially when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder.
Kim didn’t know what Drew’s new face looked like and she couldn’t just waltz in PC with the truth. Even now, Kim may fear she could be arrested for involvement in the ‘study’ or targeted by Faison.
