General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that a new romance might be blossoming off-screen for two GH actors – Laura Wright and Donnell Turner. Last night was a Daytime Emmy event and Laura shared a pic of her with Donnell in a car together heading for the event. Was this a date night for a new couple? Could off screen romance translate to on screen action for their characters?
In Laura’s pic, Donnell was driving her to the event and she captioned the photo, “Emmy Party Night!!! With the handsome Donnell Turner”. Was this Laura’s way to break the news that she and Donnell Turner are dating? Laura is single and ready to mingle since her split from John Wright whom she was married to for 20 years. Laura has been working on weight loss and spending time with her kids since the split.
But could it be now that Laura is finally ready to dip her toe into the dating pool and has found love at work with hunky Donnell Turner. If you check out Donnell’s social media timeline, he’s a busy guy who’s always at one Hollywood event or another but never posts photos indicating he’s got a girlfriend. Donnell usually shares pics of him with other guests, but never anything romantic.
If Donnell and Laura are dating in real life, it would be kind of fantastic to see that in a General Hospital storyline as well. Although Donnell’s character Curtis Ashford is warming up to Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine), it would be no big deal for her to get back with her recent ex Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery). Spoilers for GH May sweeps reveal Jordan makes a big decision that affects both Curtis and Andre. With Andre already split with her, this tidbit hints that the PCPD boss might be having second thoughts on her split with Andre. If Jordan sidles back up to Andre, that would leave Curtis free to get with the newly single Carly Corinthos. Carly needs a new man and Curtis is hot.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) gets a new love interest next week and that means it’s soon time for Carly to look for new love. Sonny has gotten closer to Curtis so it would certainly chafe the mob boss to know that Carly is getting busy with Jason Morgan’s (Billy Miller) new PI partner. Carly with Curtis would be an interesting plot twist and an easy smush name “CarTis”.
Last night on social media, Laura Wright certainly looked thrilled to be out and about with sexy Donnell Turner so perhaps this is the start of something new for the two actors. Lots of GH couples have met on the ABC set including Rebecca Herbst and her husband, Chad Duell and Kristen Alderson, Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash, plus Jack and Kristina Wagner among others.
