General Hospital Spoilers: Nathan Police Case Leads to Father Reveal at Last – Valentin the Daddy?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for May sweeps say Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) will stumble across clues soon that help the handsome detective solve the big mystery of his life – just who is his father? The secret Dr Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) has been keeping for decades is about to blow up.

Poor Nathan hasn’t been doing too well lately with the women in his life. He finally married Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) after a false start on New Year’s when their first wedding was derailed by flu medication and the reveal that Nathan was still married to Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson).

General Hospital soap fans know a dead wife is a rarity, so it’s likely Nathan is still hitched to the not really dead Claudette but even so, he’s all alone since Maxie took off out of town for “work.” Maxie’s abrupt disappearance has been written in to cover Kirsten Storms extensive leave of absence for “personal issues.”

The good news is, General Hospital showrunners decided to give Nathan a storyline so Ryan Paevey isn’t twiddling his thumbs with nothing to do. The Port Charles Police Department is busy these days which is surprising since mostly they arrest people after other non-cops in town crack their cases.

Nathan will soon start to work on a new case that will send him down a rabbit hole to some discoveries that are very personal to him. It’s likely the case Nathan will work has to do with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) who has long been rumored to be Nathan’s father.

One issue with Valentin being Nathan’s dad is the lack of reaction on Liesl’s part when she was at Nathan and Maxie’s wedding and Valentin was there as Nina Clay Cassadine’s (Michelle Stafford) plus one. If Valentin was her baby daddy, wouldn’t she freak out or something?

Remember, Liesl killed Victor Cassadine (Thaao Penghlis) to keep the secret of who is Nathan’s real father. General Hospital spoilers hint that based on Nathan’s age and Valentin’s history, it’s quite possible that Valentin had his former face which was not so hot and the Greek may also still have had his hunchback at the time too.

Comparing Valentin back then and Valentin now, he’s almost unrecognizable. Plus, he was using a different name during his analyst days, which aligns with Nathan’s time of conception, so no one at the WSB would know he was a Cassadine. So, it could be that Liesl bedded hideous Valentin before he had corrective surgery.

General Hospital buzz hints that explains why Liesl didn’t recognize him at the wedding. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and her sister Alex Devane are hot on the trail of Valentin but Nathan will get in on the action soon as part of his new investigation and that will lead him to the shocking reveal of his father.

The General Hopital legends have been swirling for years, even before Valentin was cast and came on the scene, that the scariest Cassadine of all was Obrecht’s baby daddy. Nathan’s new case could be to help Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) get Valentin out of Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) life.

Nathan would be stunned to find out that he’s Valentin’s son, which would make him Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) brother when he initially thought he was her father. What a twisted soapy mess! It seems very likely Obrecht’s baby daddy will be someone who’s around rather than a new character. More to come soon.

Nathan’s new case that leads to the shocking personal revelation starts soon and carries over into May sweeps. Share your comments below and tune into CDL often for the latest General Hospital spoilers, news and updates.
