General Hospital spoilers examine the consequences for Sonny and Carly of recent revelations on new GH episodes and if the Port Charles mobster can repair the damage. The other shoe has dropped: Carly [Laura Wright] has heard the tape of Sonny [Maurice Benard] telling Nelle [Chloe Lanier] to be quiet about the fact that the two slept together. You could see Carly’ face harden. Now what?
The confrontation between Sonny and Carly at this point is Carly yelling and Sonny remaining silent. He has no ammunition. He can’t deny what happened because he believes it as much as she does. Bobbie [Jackie Zeman], meanwhile, has made it clear to Nelle that she is aware of what went on between her and Sonny, though Nelle tries to tell her it isn’t true. So this lie has now become a fact thanks to Nelle setting her scam up so effectively.
Nelle has had a change of heart, but it might not help. Her denial may not be believed. Now, should she admit to drugging Sonny, that might mollify things a bit. But the conclusion may be that yes, Sonny was out of it, but he did sleep with Nelle. That does not make Nelle look very good, but then, what will? In that situation, Carly might in time forgive Sonny. Might.
Say it doesn’t happen. Say that Carly remains convinced that Nelle and Sonny had sex. What will Sonny do? He realizes that he doesn’t know what actually occurred that night. Aware of what slime Nelle is, and thinking instead of panicking, he may at last figure out that he was drugged. So how is he to know what else happened?
Sonny has two choices in Port Charles – Dr. Andre Maddox [Anthony Montgomery] or Dr. Kevin Collins [Jon Lindstrom]. Since he knows Kevin, Sonny may ask for his help to go under hypnosis and learn what happened that night.
Hypnosis may be the only thing that can help Sonny, if even that will help! Kevin can bring Sonny back to that evening, and he will remember how he felt and that he must have been under the influence of something. It is controversial whether or not hypnosis can help Sonny with what happened while he was unconscious.
But did Sonny immediately pass out? Or were there some twilight moments that Sonny can remember — Nelle taking off her clothes, perhaps? That would go a long way to prove she engineered the whole thing and wanted to make him believe something that wasn’t true.
Armed with some sort of confirmation by Kevin, Sonny could go to Carly with this information and win her back. Hopefully, then Sonny and Carly can be married for a sixth time. What do you think?
