General Hospital spoilers address the question of who is Nathan’s father, something GH fans are dying to know. Nathan West [Ryan Paevey], now married to Maxie Jones [Kirsten Storms] first came to Port Charles in search of Silas Clay [Michael Easton]. He believed that Clay had put his wife, Nathan’s sister Nina [Michelle Stafford], into a coma.
From there, Nathan’s family became a very confusing subject. Nathan’s mother Madeline Reeves [Donna Mills] actually was his aunt, not his mother. This made Nina his cousin because her mother was really Liesl Obrecht [Kathleen Gati], Madeline’s sister. If Obrecht was his mother, that made her daughter Britt [Kelly Thiebaud] his half-sister. Most people would have given up and left town, but Nathan, though his head was spinning, decided to persevere.
The family tangles weren’t over yet. Dr. Obrecht told her son that his father was none other than Victor Cassadine. She also informed Victor Cassadine [Thaao Penglis] of this just before he allegedly blew up in a building explosion. Obrecht later was found to be lying, making Nathan’s father still an unsolved mystery.
Victor is no prize, so why would his mother identify him as Nathan’s dad? Sadly, Dr. O believed that Victor was a better choice than the real father. That makes us tremble in our boots because you really can’t get much wore than Victor, or any of that generation of Cassadine men.
Nathan could be related to a Port Charles family or someone connected to Port Charles. His father could be Liesl Obrecht’s husband, the evil Faison [Anders Hove]. If that’s the case, I’d lie and say it was Victor as well.
So who else could it be? Well, there’s always Sonny [Maurice Benard]. Liesl Obrecht at one time was no doubt a lovely young woman, not a mad scientist turned hospital administrator. This would make Nathan his partner Dante’s [Dominic Zamprogna] half-brother and the half-brother of Kristina [Lexi Ainsworth], Avery [Grace and Ava Scarola], Morgan, and Michael [Chad Duell], though Sonny adopted him.
If Liesl and Sonny were together, it was when Sonny had a strip club with underage people working in it. If she didn’t know about Faison’s crimes, that would have made Sonny worse, in her mind anyway. The key here is that this person, Nathan’s real father, is worse than Victor. That lets out the Scorpios, the Quartermaines, and the Webbers.
This is a long shot, and the ages are wrong, but Nathan may still be a Cassadine if his father is Valentin Cassadine [James Stuart]. Valentin was known as the most evil of all Cassadines. That would certainly be worse or on a par with Faison. There is more to learn about Valentin, including is he is the REAL Valentin or an impostor. Anything is possible at this point.
Here is an interesting prospect. Could Nathan be related to the Jacks family? Could he be, in fact, Jerry Jacks’ [Sebastian Roche] son? Talk about bad! Boy, he would definitely qualify. Jerry is an international traveler and could have met Liesl along the way and had an affair with her. It’s scary thought.
