Kate Middleton’s 2017 wardrobe has gotten so expensive, that it’s left Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth disgusted according to sources close to the Palace. In fact, new reports say that the Duchess of Cambridge is spending more money on her clothes now than ever before, even though we are only a few months into the year. Royal watchers fear this display of extravagance will damage Kate Middleton’s already tepid reception by the British working public.
Apparently, Kate has already spent a massive $71,000 on her wardrobe this year. In 2016, she spent an estimated $214,000 to look picture perfect during her royal tours and charity appearances. A lot of royal insiders believe there’s a good chance that she might easily surpass last year’s amount by spending even more money on her clothes before closing out the year.
If Kate’s one and only job is to look good for the cameras, then she’s acing it. But at the same time, she’s also angering the royal family. The last thing Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles want to see is Kate Middleton making headlines more for her wardrobe than her charity work. But yet that seems to be the case.
While other high-profile princesses from Sweden, Denmark and even Greece are making headlines for their projects and contributions to society, the only thing Kate is doing is appearing in front of the cameras to wave, pose and smile. At least, that’s what her critics are saying.
Prince William and Kate Middleton will be celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary later this month and yet the Duchess has not shown any passion or real commitment to her charities or causes throughout the years. Instead, the media focuses more on what designer dress she steps out. That, or how many times she’s recycled a pricey coat.
Clearly, that’s not what Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles want to see. And they certainty don’t want her spending more money on her designer clothes than she has to. Sure, Kate Middleton might be the most fashionable royal in the world, but she’s also the most controversial one, too. That’s because she does more posing, waving and apparently modeling than she does actual work.
That’s why Queen Elizabeth wants to put an end to it by forcing Kate to focus more on her royal obligations than on her expensive suits and dresses. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about Kate Middleton’s pricey wardrobe.
