Prince Harry has always been a popular figure in the royal family but with Prince William and Kate Middleton dealing with a major PR crisis on their hands, it looks like Harry might be taking advantage of their situation. In fact, many royal observers believe that Prince Harry is doing whatever he can to make himself look like the most responsible, caring, and hands-on royal the British public has ever seen while Prince William and Kate Middleton struggle to fix their marriage, as well as their spoiled and bratty reputations.
After Prince William made the mistake of skipping Commonwealth Day Services to ski with his buddies and act like a drunken fool in Switzerland, Harry has been doing the exact opposite. He managed to impress the public with an emotionally-charged visit to an AIDS center that his mother Princess Diana once visited. Harry even signed photographs of Princess Diana from her visit. Royal observers say that Prince Harry always had a way of connecting with the public. In comparison, William has often been seen as standoffish and distant.
Just last week both Prince William and Kate Middleton looked tensed and irritated during their two-day state visit to Paris. William also had an annoyed look on his face during the shamrock presentation at the Saint Patrick’s Day parade in London. What’s more, William has not made a public appearance since the London Terror Attack that killed 5 people and injured 50 after a terrorist assailant drove his car into people on the Westminster Bridge and then stabbed police guarding Parliament.
Prince William’s father Prince Charles visited victims at a hospital in London on Friday and both Kate Middleton and Prince Harry have made statements, expressing their support for the victims and their families. Prince William, meanwhile, has not said anything in public. Instead, he’s been hiding behind closed doors.
Of course, royal fans know that that the public has always preferred Prince Harry over Prince William. But could Harry possibly be taking advantage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s PR crisis by taking even more of their spotlight away from them? Some believe that might be the case. With all the bad press they’ve been getting these last several months, some royal watchers believe that Prince William and Kate Middleton will need a miracle to repair all of the damage that has been done. Prince William needs to somehow prove to his critics that he’s not the hard-partying cheater some critics are making him out to be.
