Estee Lauder has decided to drop Kendall Jenner and the make-up line she fronted. Apparently the decision was made due to the fact that the line struggled to make its sales goals. Kendall has served as the face of Estee Edit, a line targeted to millennials, but, last week, the famous cosmetics company decided to drop her for a French make-up artist named Violette, whom they named their global beauty director .
It is surprising that the company has decided to drop the famous supermodel for an unknown make up artist, even though Violette has impressive celeb clients such as Kate Hudson. But, with Kendall’s line of products tanking, the company really had no choice. People are now wondering if the Kardashian brand is in jeopardy and if companies are actually starting to realize that the public is sick of the Kardashians.
Although Kendall will formally remain with Estee Lauder, we will have to see if she will actually star in any future campaigns. It has been a rough year for Kendall’s career and image. She was so excited about the fact that she was cast to star in a Pepsi commercial, making her the first supermodel to do so since Cindy Crawford in the early 1990’s.
Unfortunately, the commercial was widely panned and was pulled off the air within 24 hours. Just a few weeks later, she came under fire yet again for promoting the Fyre Festival, a music festival that was supposed to take place on a luxury island and feature hit musical acts, but turned out to be a disaster instead. People were left stranded and starving on the island after paying tens of thousands of dollars after being encouraged by models like Kendall, who promoted the music festival on her social media.
With the exception of Kylie, who is quite successful with her brand of make-up and is filming her own reality show titled, “Life of Kylie”, it seems as though all of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashian” sisters are struggling with their careers lately.
Kim is now a 36 year old wife and mom to two toddlers and has pretty much aged out of Hollywood. She recently launched her own brand of “contouring” make up, but faced backlash over the fact that she was so tan in the promotional photos.
Caitlyn’s tell all memoir had disappointing sales, and Khloe and Kourtney were never really successful outside of the reality show. The ratings for “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” are low, despite all of the family’s recent drama. It certainly appears that the public is simply tired of the reality show family, and that definitely doesn’t look good for the future of the “Kardashian” brand.
