‘Kicking & Screaming’ was all about survival. Twenty contestants were paired up and told they had to survive out in the wild for a month in order to win half a million dollars. But naturally there was a catch. There were those that were used to living off the land and battling whatever conditions that nature might throw their way. So it was just luck on their part that the ten “survivalists” were paired with the ten “novices”. The novices had never gone camping and most of them were used to avoiding anything to do with nature or manual labor however tonight premiere brought these two groups together and then dumped them deep in a South Pacific forest.

So of course there were those that had wanted to pick their partners for themselves because they all wanted to win the prize money yet the groups were randomly selected based on colored t-shirts and so some ended up with duds for partners. There was the woman that let her husband do most of the work and she was prepared with a guy that had no problem with taking down trees. However he possibly went a little too far when he had asked her to catch said tree so the two along with everyone else had struggled through Day One. Day One was building shelters and not killing their partners

Yet, the novices had somehow managed to struggle with even that. There were a few of them that demanded to use to the machete and so one guy had almost cut his partner. So the partner was surprised that he could survive several years in the United States armed forces and almost get maimed by a champion chess player though he did take over the machete and survived through Day One. Day Two on the other hand was all about scouting for food and so that became the teams’ first challenge. They had all been told that they had to swim to a dock in the middle of a river and then catch a fish before placing it in their bucket.

The first team that had two fishes in the bucket wins a prize and the last team to get to their fish would have to play in the elimination challenge. Though the first team to finish was Ben and Juliana who were the white team, but the last team to finish came down between the green and black team. So it had been neck to neck until out nowhere the black team managed to get their act together and come in second to last. And so the green team were unfortunately the last to finish and the novice did blame himself. Mike was a delivery truck driver and he used to play football before he gave it up and settled down which in this case means he gave up exercising all together.

Mike however had joined the competition because he believed he felt like his wife would have stayed with him if he had been a little more adventurous. But Mike had gotten past his fears of critters and he had done something that he never thought was possible. So Mike did let up on himself when he realized that he had done his best and he had been interested in finding out who the green team would be competing against. And so the show had to throw another curveball, they had asked the winning white team to choose between getting a luxury tent for the night or the power to pick who else would be playing in the elimination challenge.

However, the white team had surprised everyone when they picked the prize. They said that they wanted a bed for the night and the camping had even come with fresh fruit. So the white team got to enjoy some of the finer comforts from home while everyone else suffered. The other teams had all put their fish together for dinner and some had gotten sick by it. They said the fish was disgusting and there had been jokes flying about picking their own vomit corner yet the food hadn’t been the worst of it. There had also been an incident in which one young woman’s face swelled up and she could barely open her eyes.

So the medics had been called and the contestant had been given the opportunity of an EpiPen or a ride to the hospital though she chose the EpiPen because she didn’t want to leave the competition. Yet, her eyes had still been swollen the next morning and that along with some serious mosquito bites had made many question whether they wanted the money. Illness and little creatures were not laughing matters and so there were plenty of freak-outs to go around. And the one thing that kept everyone calm had been the elimination pick – the white team had forgone power so that left the decision to the rest of the teams and they all came up with a reasonable solution.

The teams decided that whoever came in second to last should take part in the elimination challenge and that way no one was the bad guy. Though the black team had been hurt to find out they were up for elimination. They had understood the reasoning behind it, but the black and green teams were the only ones with female survivalist and so no one had wanted that to be their legacy. Only they couldn’t change the decision! So they accepted the elimination challenge and both teams eventually found out just what they had to do to stay on ‘Kicking & Scream’ yet it hadn’t been pretty or clean.

The elimination challenge apparently required both team to go digging in the mud for splints before they used the splits to create a pole long enough to knock off the fire flints off a tree. But still that hadn’t been the end of it. So the teams were supposed to create a fire using the flints and then lighting the cauldron however the team that saved themselves would then have the power to choose who would play in the next elimination challenge. And so that was a prize worth fighting for!

However, the black team which was Maxwell and Tamra were able to pull ahead by a few seconds and that saved them this time meanwhile Mike and Jessie of the green team were eliminated.

THE END!
