Kim Kardashian is currently taking fire for a photo she posted on Facebook of her 18-month old son, Saint West. The photo looks innocent enough with the child sitting in his car seat with a cartoon cup while slightly scowling at the camera. In Kim’s caption, she joked that her son was not ready for his closeup. So, what exactly is the problem with the picture?
The problem was that the child’s car seat was facing towards the front, and for a child of his age and weight, the car seat should be facing the rear.
This led to a barrage of criticism of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star, with people taking her to task for not having the car seat installed properly. Some even pointed out that she was technically breaking California law by having the seat facing the wrong way.
This isn’t the only time Kim has come under fire for a car seat blunder. In October 2015, she shared a photo of daughter North on her Instagram in a car seat and was criticized because the toddler was buckled incorrectly. After much criticism, she later deleted the photo. Kim has also had to take to Twitter to defend her parenting skills after being called out for her parenting blunders.
Kim has yet to respond to the latest comments, but this marks the second time in just a few weeks that the reality star has come under fire. Kim recently launched her own line of makeup “contouring” kits, but the promotional photos she used on her social media was met with controversy due to the fact that her complexion was so dark, that people accused her of being in blackface. Kim wasted no time apologizing, saying she meant no offense and claimed she was just very tan when she did the photo shoot.
While Kim is no stranger to controversy, she has largely escaped being in the news the past couple of months. She went on a social media hiatus after she was held at gunpoint and robbed of millions of dollars worth of jewelry last October while she was attending fashion week in Paris and promised to no longer be so “in your face” when it came to her wealth. But, she is now slowly returning to social media, and of course, the more of your life you show the public, the greater chance you will be criticized.
