The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers examine a hot new B&B couple and ask if they will reach the vaunted status of soap super couple. Are we witnessing a new power couple in the making on, The Bold and the Beautiful? Right now Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Thomas Forrester (Pierson Fode) are sparking like a wildfire in the middle of July; please don’t put out the flames!
When the whole Spectra clan, plus their entourage, brought the 80’s back to B&B it was a visual better left unseen; or so I thought. The immediate flashback was as startling as a bank of paparazzi lightbulbs exploding all at once.
New Sally was so slapstick it hurt. Straight outta nowhere and without warning, she cut into our regularly scheduled programming like a garish test pattern stuck on repeat. She was brash and sassy, in all her red-headed glory, the latter day incarnation of the Original Sally (Darlene Conley). But this 2.0 model lacked the sashay moves and dulcet tones that Original Sally used to mellow down her delicious outrageousness.
All that harshness softened once she entered Thomas’ orbit. Now we’re seeing a more nuanced Sally, and watching her opposite Thomas has been entertaining and sweet. He brings out her conscience (mostly!) and she brings out his playfulness. Do they have what it takes to make a Bold and Beautiful super couple? If so, what do we call them: Tally? Somas? Only time will tell if Sally has what it takes to tame the playboy flame burning within Thomas Forrester’s DNA.
They’re off to a promising start though, both as business rivals and mismatched love partners. The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say if they do get to smush-name status, Sally will have to do more than scheme and connive from behind her wanna-be power desk.
Sally Spectra has big designer shoes to fill, as does the son of dressmaker Ridge Forrester. Together they could make, or remake, The Bold and the Beautiful history. Will they forge a fashion legacy and romantic relationship that lasts a soapy lifetime? Time will tell, but here’s to hoping that B&B viewers are witnessing the start of a beautiful partnership!
