Nina Dobrev will return for ‘The Vampire Diaries’ series finale. The ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’ star confirmed the much-anticipated news through social media. ‘TVD’ fans want more details but anything additional is top secret.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ fans are thrilled that Nina, executive producer Julie Plec and CW president Mark Pedowitz have worked the details. At Comic Con 2016 in San Diego the showrunner put out a plea to Nina about keeping emotional promises.
According to Plec, Nina promised to return for ‘The Vampire Diaries’ final season, whenever that would be. Do fans want a Delena reunion or a Stelena reunion? The majority appear to be in favor of Delena over Stelena according to the posts on both Nina and Plec’s IG accounts.
The time has come – ‘TVD’ season 8 is the last one for the CW vampire drama. Nina posted a photo of a script in the shadow of a candle with the name NINA DOBREV stamped on it. The actress wrote, “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever.” The script indicates that Nina will be back for episode #8.16 which is listed as the series finale.
Following Comic Con the creator and executive producer of ‘TVD’ revealed that the finale planned was epic. But only if Nina Dobrev reprised her role as Elena and helped usher out ‘The Vampire Diaries’ with the perfect ending.
An alternate ending was written, but it wouldn’t have been exactly what Plec wanted or what ‘The Vampire Diaries’ fans deserved. Julie Plec posted a photo of the last scene shot for the ‘TVD’ series finale. Plec wrote, “Last scene in Damon’s bedroom. #TVDForever.”
Will there be a reunion between Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore [Ian Somerhalder], a Delena happy ending? Or will fans get a Stelena reunion – Stefan Salvatore [Paul Wesley] and Elena? Will there be no reunion at all?
There has been much speculation if it will be Elena Gilbert or Katherine Pierce, Elena’s doppelganger, returning to Mystic Falls. A significant number of ‘TVD’ viewers also watch ‘The Originals,’ the other CW vampire drama. Katherine and Klaus Mikaelson [Joseph Morgan] have a history that has yet to be explored. A crossover to season 4 of ‘The Originals’ may give fans answers to questions they have about Katherine and Klaus.
The end of ‘TVD’ is near. We wonder, were Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder cordial and professional while filming the series finale? Ian made it clear that he didn’t want to work with Nina again. The actor engaged in a small dispute with ‘The Vampire Diaries’ showrunner over the issue.
Whatever Ian and Nina’s working relationship was while filming the final scenes for season 8, fans are going to get an epic ending they so rightfully deserve.
