The semi-finals begin tonight with eight singers vying for four spots in the finals. The show kicks off with Hunter Plake from Team Gwen. He and his wife talk about all they have been through since they got married. They lost their home to a flood and then Hunter made it onto the Voice. It has been a roller coaster ride. Gwen is thrilled that Hunter will be performing With or Without You by U2. The crowd goes wild over his performance. Carson such a response is very rare. Blake thinks it was Hunter’s best performance yet. Alicia was swept away and was lost in his voice. Adam liked that Hunter kept the song true to its roots. Gwen hopes America knows that Hunter not only sings but also writes and produces. He deserves to be in the finale.

The next performance is a duet of Chris Blue and Vanessa Ferguson from Team Alicia. They will sing Alicia’s If I Ain’t Got You. For the first time the duets will count and American can vote based on this performance. Each member will get one point based on the votes and downloads of the duet. Carson thought his performance was awesome and he encouraged America to vote for Chris and Vanessa.

Team Blake is up next with TSoul singing Ain’t No Way by Aretha Franklin. Blake thinks this song will let TSoul come alive on stage. It will highlight all of his strengths. This song is one of Alicia’s favorites and she thought TSoul made it his own. Blake tells TSoul he is so proud of him. He thinks TSoul has really made it.

Brennley Brown from Team Gwen is the next singer to perform. Gwen wants Brennley to change up her performance and show America a different side of herself. Brennley is excited but also scared. Gwen is pumped to hear her perform Suds In The Bucket. Blake (who was Brennley’s coach before Gwen) thought she did a great job showing her true self and helped America remember that she is a 15 year old girl. Gwen is proud that she took a chance and thought she did an awesome job.

Carson reminds the audience to vote. Downloading songs on Itunes count in the vote to help the performers move onto the finals. Next up is a duet between Hunter Plake and Aliyah Moulden singing Let It Go by James Bay.

Lauren Duski from Team Blake is the next artist to sing. She has been overwhelmed by the attention she is received from her hometown in Michigan. Her mom sends her the newspaper articles and is so proud of her. She will sing Ghost in This House by Shenandoah. Lauren shares she has been through a couple heartbreaks in her life and they have helped her relate to this song. Blake can see Lauren selling out stadiums; she has the voice and the stage presence. She is the whole package. Adam loved her grace and simplicity. Blake thinks there are a few songs that are just so difficult and this was one of them. Lauren knocked it out of the park.

Jessie Larson and TSoul pair up for a duet performance of I Wish by Stevie Wonder. Carson thought the song felt like a Blues Brothers performance. He encourages America to vote for this duet.

Chris Blue sings a solo for Team Alicia. He performs Take Me To The King by Tamela Mann. He thinks this song helps him to return to his roots. He knows his church and Alicia are counting on him and he doesn’t want to let anyone down. Alicia is moved to tears by his performance.

Team Alicia has the next artist to perform and it is Vanessa Ferguson. She will sing Superstar by Luther Vandross. Alicia thinks this song will allow Vanessa to show the drama she can portray. Vanessa decides to wear a dress to honor her grandfather who will be watching. Alicia thinks this performance shows that Vanessa is showing that she is not afraid of her greatness. She asks America to vote to keep Vanessa.

Good Hearted Woman by Leann Rimes is the next duet to be sung by Brennley Brown and Lauren Duski. Lauren thinks Brennley is an old soul. Jessie Larson is the only remaining singer for Team Adam. Jessie brings his wife in to his rehearsal with Adam and they share that they are expecting a baby. Adam can really relate as he and his wife just had a baby. Jessie will sing I Was Wrong by Chris Stapleton.

Jessie thinks this song is the best fit for him yet. Adam loved Jessie performance. He genuinely thinks Jessie is the best artist left on the show. The last singer of the night is Aliyah Moulden from Team Blake. Blake tells her that he went home last week and watched her performance again and cried. He picked I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me for her to sing this week. She still can’t believe that she has made it this far and that she is working with Blake. After her performance, Blake tells her how much growth he has seen in her from her first performance to tonight. Carson reminds everyone that voting closes at noon tomorrow. Tomorrow night’s show will see four singers go home and four move on to the finals.
