The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) and Mattie’s (Lexie Stevenson) relationship will slowly bloom. Since there’s so much drama between Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Cane (Daniel Goddard), they intend on keeping their hot romance a secret. It’ll be easier for them to hide their involvement and avoid all the conflict at home.
Mattie and Reed may even get a little thrill out of sneaking around. It’s clear that these opposites attract. Reed is a rebel who enjoys focusing on his music. Cane obviously sees him as a total bad boy. Mattie, on the other hand, is a great student who’s a bit on the nerdy side. She’s nothing like Reed, but maybe that’s why she’s drawn to him.
Reed’s behavior could easily rub off on Mattie, especially as their relationship gets heats up. Since they’re going to keep their parents out of the loop, it could set up big trouble. There are plenty of ways for Mattie to head down the wrong path.
It’s possible that Mattie and Reed will get arrested for something. They could trespass during one of their secret nights together or get caught guzzling alcohol somewhere. Those scenarios would add fuel to their parents’ conflict. Cane and Lily (Christel Khalil) would undoubtedly criticize Victoria for being unable to control her wild child.
To take this idea one step further, Y&R could do a teen pregnancy storyline. In that case, Cane and Lily would be absolutely livid! They would scold Mattie for her recklessness, but Reed would probably get most of the blame. It would make Victoria’s life more difficult as well.
Since Juliet (Laur Allen) is pregnant by Cane, he could become Dad to a new baby and Grandpa to another one. There would be some serious diaper duty going on for this family. Of course, there’s no guarantee both babies would survive. Either Juliet or Mattie could have a miscarriage at some point.
Still, an experience like this could help Mattie soften toward Cane. She could understand that sometimes people make mistakes. It would be a shame to see a previously responsible teen get knocked up, but it would lead to some interesting situations. The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Mattie and Reed’s romance will come with some twists, so everyone will want to stay tuned.
