The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Mal Young is staying tight-lipped about Adam Newman’s potential comeback and has made it clear that Michael Muhney could possibly be re-hired to play the character when Adam does return.
Y&R’s head writer and executive producer (showrunner) may not want to give too much away. At a recent fan event, Young refused to answer any questions about Adam or the possibility of Michael Muhney returning to the role. He decided to make the topic completely off-limits.
Some false reports circulating on social media suggested Young said he had no plans to recast Adam or bring back Muhney. When a fan asked about his comments, Young sent out a tweet to set the record straight (see below). He indicated that there was no truth to any of those reports at all including the one that Michael Muhney would NOT return. This means that Young has NOT ruled out Muhney’s return as Adam Newman. Young added, “Only time character was mentioned was when I said don’t ask me about Adam! Period.”
If Adam is coming back, that’s obviously a big deal. It’s not something Young would want to leak at a fan event. This would be major news, so someone would probably get the exclusive story. The Young and the Restless might want to wait on this announcement anyway. It would be best to preserve the surprise so viewers can remain invested in what’s playing out right now.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will face another round of drama. Victor (Eric Braeden) and Faith’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) alliance could cause a few problems, but “Chick” will try to hang in there. Perhaps they’ll be able to weather the storm.
Unfortunately, Nick and Victor won’t be resolving their issues anytime soon. The conflict will really rev up in the coming weeks, so Victor may have to get nasty. Joining forces with his young granddaughter may not be enough! Faith has skills, but there’s only so much she can do. Could Victor seek another family member’s help? Will he track down an alive Adam and convince him to plot against Nick?
It would be great if Adam played by Michael Muhney could arrive for November sweeps, or at least at some point in 2018, and numerous polls conducted by CDL show 90% of fans want this to happen, but Young is leaving everyone to speculate at the moment. Still, it’s fun for Y&R fans to consider what might be in the works. You just never know what’s being kept under wraps.
