The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) ongoing efforts will convince everyone that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is guilty of blowing up the cabin and killing Adam. How she did that will be challenging to determine and prove. However, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) won’t need too much hard evidence to conclude that Chloe isn’t her best friend.
Writing Nick as the hero in this extended storyline makes sense. It’s reasonable to believe that he’s been focused on the aftereffects of the first part of the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal. His perceived dead son was actually hiding in plain sight as Sully. Because that situation has had time to play out, Nick’s head is now clear.
Scott’s (Daniel Hall) conversation with Chloe at The Underground helped to spark Nick’s interest in how Adam (Justin Hartley) died. Finding the tracking device Chloe then admitted to putting inside Connor’s (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) toy dinosaur led to deep state research with her wireless service provider. Can you hear me now Chloe?
It proved good to be a Newman again, as Nick used connections to have Chloe’s smartphone pinged. The leaked digital results placed her in the proximity of the infamous woodsy cabin. The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Chelsea knows that a secret escape route existed that would have allowed Chloe to leave the penthouse undetected last September.
Considering that Miss Mitchell offered no plausible explanation for why geographic records placed her far from Genoa City just prior to Adam’s apparent death, Mrs. Adam Newman will be forced to admit a hard truth to herself.
Unless Adam is found alive, everyone, including the Genoa City Police Department, will believe that Chloe has been lying about her whereabouts when the explosion took place. Y&R spoilers hint that Adam’s DNA sample will likely show evidence of a drug that matches the substance contained in a spare dart that Nick found in the duffel bag Chloe discarded.
How the metal wrench factors into this messy equation is an open question. Did Chloe damage a propane tank line? And if so, how did she spark the explosion while being far enough away to remain safe?
Of course Nick also found the wrench in question. Why Chloe chose to retain that implement, along with the others she used is a strange but necessary point to move this plot forward. Of course attempting to apply logic to a warped mind is often a misguided pursuit. As all loyal fans know, any normal human being inside would have been killed when that cabin blew up. But Adam is far from a normal guy.
Persistent pressure by a seemingly wide swath of fans has sustained hope that this character will be resurrected once again. Now that Adam’s assailant, who’s not necessarily his killer, is finally being tagged this part of that significant arc is about to be put to bed. As that is tucked in, Y&R gains the opportunity to satisfy an audience craving by bringing Adam back to life (again). CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless.
