Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that one storyline may not have played out exactly how the show wanted. DOOL fans know that Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) return stint wrapped up not too long ago. She finally found EJ (last played by James Scott), confirmed his identity and flew him to a special facility in Italy. Sami’s hoping that EJ will make a full recovery and complete their family again.
The story was interesting, but it would’ve been better if James Scott had returned. Trey Baxter served as a double, so we only saw his hands and the back of his head. After the explosion at the warehouse, EJ was severely burned and covered in bandages.
His mummified appearance served as an excuse to cover EJ’s face and potentially set up a real recast next time.
Of course, it makes sense that the show would’ve at least asked Scott to come back. It would’ve been worth a shot, right? There’s a good chance Days indeed reached out and ultimately received a rejection. A new blind item from Soap Opera Digest may back up that idea. It reveals that one popular vet had a story crafted for him, but he decided not to be part of it.
This blind item could be about any of the four main soaps, but Days of Our Lives seems like a great fit. Scott has never been keen on returning and his absence from this storyline was glaring. Again, it’s tough to believe DOOL would’ve left Scott out of this intentionally.
EJ was a fan favorite, so people are always clamoring for Scott’s comeback. Since this return didn’t pan out, it’s probably because Scott said no. Scott might’ve even made it clear that a return was never going to happen. That may be why Days seemingly just paved the way for plastic surgery and a recast.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) warned that EJ may be unrecognizable once the bandages are removed. After EJ recovers and hopefully heads back to Salem one day, he could have a whole new look. Days of Our Lives spoilers say some hot DiMera drama may be brewing down the road!
