Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Thaao Penghlis (Andre) could be headed back to the NBC soap. Andre has still been appearing in Abigail’s (Marci Miller) visions, but it looks like Penghlis hasn’t been on set for a while. However, that doesn’t mean Penghlis is done at Days forever! Rising from the dead is perfectly normal on DOOL, so Penghlis’ return could be brewing.
Soap Hub interviewed Penghlis on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys. When asked about a Days comeback, Penghlis was quite hopeful. “It’s like they want to finish me off and they regret it,” Penghlis said. “I’m sure I’ll be back.” He seems certain that he’ll pop up in Salem again one day.
Let’s consider a few facts and clues. For starters, it’s worth mentioning that Penghlis has two characters he could portray. Both Andre and Tony are deceased now, but either one of them could come back through a shocking twist. Penghlis is great no matter what, so Days just has to pick which story they want to tell.
Andre’s return from the dead could help Abigail beat murder charges. It’s possible there was some classic DiMera trickery going on. Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) was a master at faking his death, so Andre learned from the best. In fact, this wouldn’t be the first time Andre came back from a seemingly fatal exit.
However, there are other ways to get Abigail off the hook. An insanity defense should work considering Abigail’s mental issues. She may be thrown in a psychiatric facility, but that won’t last indefinitely. Days of Our Lives always finds a way to exonerate their characters and bring them back home.
Since there are other options to clear Abigail, maybe it’s time to give Andre a rest and prepare for Tony. Days of Our Lives spoilers recently pointed to Roman (Josh Taylor) and Anna’s (Leann Hunley) engagement, but the scene was cut. Perhaps the show decided to hold off on that. It might be better to set that marriage in motion closer to Tony’s potential return.
Will (Chandler Massey) will learn more about the drug that brought him back to life this month. That could be another hint about Andre or Tony’s next stint. Did one of them receive that strange serum? DOOL viewers are keeping their fingers crossed!
