Gregorio has had a hard time adjusting to living without Percy on tonight’s all-new episode of “NCIS: New Orleans”

Gregorio used to be a neat freak. She actually used to be a lot of things back when she was living with her best friend, but then her best friend moved away for her dream job and Gregorio was that very hard. She had trashed her apartment and had needed Sebastian’s help just to find her keys. She later explained to him that she hadn’t been paying much attention when she put them down and Sebastian had to tell her that wasn’t the only thing that she hadn’t been paying attention. She had also forgotten to lock her front door and that the girl she had taken home with her was still in the apartment.

Sebastian thought that was worrisome. He had been concerned because he knew that wasn’t like Gregorio. She was going through something and he had offered to help yet she refused to admit that there was a problem and told Sebastian she was fine. Gregorio said she’d been too busy to clean up after herself and that’s why her apartment had been a mess. She also said that she had forgotten that Brooklyn had been in the apartment and so she had been willing to own up to making a mistake there. Gregorio went on to say that she hadn’t been all that interested in Brooklyn and that they just had fun together which was why she hadn’t remembered her.

Sebastian hadn’t necessarily bought that one though he soon saw that Gregorio wouldn’t admit that there was a problem and so he kept close. Sebastian knew it would be a matter of time before Gregorio started acting out of character again and he wanted to be there to loan her support, so Sebastian began bugging Gregorio with his behavior. He was constantly checking in and he was asking others on their team if they thought she was ok. The others hadn’t wanted to say anything at first because they all respected Gregorio too much to talk behind her back and so it had taken them some time before they too said they were worried about Gregorio.

Gregorio’s personal life was a mess because she was throwing herself too much into her work. She was constantly at her desk and she would stay so focused on a case that it wasn’t surprising that she let others things go, but that wasn’t so much of a bad thing when the team got a call to a farmhouse. It seems a couple of hunters were out in the woods with their dogs when the dogs caught a scent and followed it back to a farmhouse where dogs, as well as owners, found the body of Lt. Commander Sophie Kendrick. Kendrick had been tortured before she was suffocated and something about the crime scene gave Gregorio the sense she had seen it before. It had taken her some time and eventually remembered seeing studying a similar case back at Quantico.

Gregorio told the team that it had been a case study back when she was learning how to become a profiler. She said a doctor had been brutally tortured and that the unsub had used a scalpel to do it. Like Dr. Wade said happened with Kendrick! Another thing that just couldn’t be a coincidence had been the crime scene. Someone had cleaned up after they murdered both women and hadn’t cared about hiding the body because they wanted the bodies to be found. Gregorio had profiled the murder scene and had said the person had to be arrogant to have done that. Almost like this wasn’t their first kill and that there could have been victims of her case study and Kendrick.

Gregorio thought that she could find out more about their killer if she reached out to her old professor. Professor Claire McDermott had taught the class with the case study and Gregorio told her team that she learned everything there was to know about being a profiler from her professor, so Gregorio reached out to her and had thought she had gotten lucky to have caught McDermott. McDermott had remembered the case study and had been willing to assist Gregorio with her profile. She had even said that she needed to go through the old case again to see if there was anything she missed and so Gregorio hung up with her never suspecting that her old professor was their killer.

McDermott hadn’t needed to get reacquainted with the case because she remembered everything that happened that first time around and so she hung up because she needed to buy herself some time. She had gotten on the first flight to New Orleans and had followed the same pattern that at the moment Gregorio was finding. Gregorio believed the killer stalked their victims to get to know them. She found ten victims over ten years and they were all successful women. They were at the top of their fields and lived all over the country. The only way the killer could have gotten to know them as if they stalked the victims and then went looking for something they could find that would justify what they would do.

Gregorio had been so busy finding patterns that she failed to see the looks she was getting from her friends and so she hadn’t realized that anything was up when they suddenly claimed they all needed a break. They said it would be good to come back the next fresh-eyed and they convinced Gregorio to go home as well. She hadn’t wanted to, however, she gave in just to get Sebastian off her back and so she waited to call back the professor until she was on her way home. She called McDermott and told her everything she had put together. She told the other woman that she thought the killer was someone that resented these other women because they saw themselves in them and that the killer being a woman was how they got away for so long.

Gregorio had also gone into detail about this person and how they must have suffered some trauma when she heard the ambulance. She could hear the ambulance because it drove right past her and she could be heard it through the phone on McDermott’s end. McDermott had been in her apartment and Gregorio had missed her by a few minutes yet that phone call had been enough to tell Gregorio that McDermott was the killer and so she called in her team. They all believed her when she said McDermott was their guy and that the woman matched the profile. The professor was successful, and she also had a troubled past. Her father was reportedly stabbed to death when she was younger and Gregorio believed it was McDermott that murdered him.

The team was all sure that McDermott did it and so that made them concerned about Gregorio. Gregorio had been considered a threat by McDermott and that meant the woman was never going to stop until she killed Gregorio. Gregorio hadn’t wanted to stay at her apartment or be watched and so Pride demanded it. He said it would make them all feel better knowing she was safe and so she gave in, but McDermott managed to later lure her out. She had found out about that girl Brooklyn and had kidnapped Brooklyn so that Gregorio would be willing to exchange her life for the woman she got involved in all of this. And unfortunately, McDermott’s plan worked because Gregorio did come to her to safeguard Brooklyn.

Gregorio had snuck away from Sebastian and had made sure to run a red light so that her team would know where she was heading. But by the time they got there, they only found Brooklyn. Brooklyn said the other lady (that she identified as McDermott) had taken Gregorio and that the woman mentioned something about Hawaii. The team had been doing some digging and so they knew that each victim had something happened in their past however they didn’t know what happened to Gregorio in Hawaii and so they searched their friend’s place. They were looking all around until eventually, they found the scrapbook. Gregorio had apparently gone on vacation with her best friend Andrea with her parents when they were teenagers and she disappeared.

Gregorio never stopped looking for Andrea and so that scrapbook gave McDermott her reasons to go after Gregorio. Gregorio was tortured into confessing that Andrea had snuck out of their hotel room to meet a boy and that she hadn’t told her on her friend because she hadn’t wanted to get Andrea in trouble. It had taken a lot for Gregorio to admit that and McDermott said that she freed her. And part of freeing her was not only getting her to confess what was haunting, it was also killing her and so tonight McDermott tried to kill Gregorio. Gregorio got the plastic bag placed overhead and she fought her way out of it. She had also been in the middle of killing McDermott when her team finally came to her rescue.

They found her at Aloha Motel and so that’s what McDermott meant when she said she wanted to take Gregorio back to Hawaii.

Gregorio was stopped before she could kill anyone and so she was fine legally though it was going to be a while before she was ever going to be truly ok.

THE END!
