SWAT begins tonight with Daniel “Hondo’ Harrelson (Shemar Moore) driving with Nia Wells (Nikiva Dionne) telling her that he covered the damages in the hotel, but that is not who he really is. Nia feels he needed it and just because he wants to stop talking about it, won’t make this go away. Christina “Chris” Alonso (Lina Esco) meets with Kira (Claire Coffee), saying she is open to the polyamorous idea but is worried about what people think; Kira has to wonder if she will ever be comfortable with it.

Jessica Cortez (Stephanie Sigman) is at a party with her niece, Amy (Izabella Alvarez); the party is held by Tiffany (Ronni Hawk) who is the most inspiring vlogger on the internet and now extremely rich. Jessica is concerned that Amy’s mother doesn’t know what Amy is planning is aspiring to do. Sarah (Shanley Caswell) announces that Tiffany is running late, showing a video of the star with JD (Max Cutler); promising they will be there soon. Shots are fired at the party, she tells her niece to hide ordering the shooters to put down their weapons; they drop their bags which are filled with drugs.

Hondo’s SWAT team race to the scene but Dominique Luca (Kenny Johnson) stops after he hits a civilian; forcing him to stay with the guy as Hondo, David “Deacon” Kay (Jay Harrington), Victor Tan (David Lim), Chris, and Jimmy Street (Alex Russell) approach the house where Jessica tells them there are two suspects inside. Chris captures one while Jessica nails the other one.

Hondo and Jessica demand to know where Tiffany is as Amy swears she is not about guns and drugs. Amy reveals they have records on anyone who posts a troubling comment on Tiffany’s vlog; Hondo wants copies but insists on speaking to the internet celebrity. Amy informs them that Tiffany is in Las Vegas, which irks Jessica because fans were waiting all morning to meet her. Amy doesn’t feel it is an excuse but Tiffany is a 21-year-old millionaire and can be a bit scattered.

Tan tells Hondo the guy they hit was pretty injured but Luca swears his story doesn’t match what happened. Jimmy and Chris head back to HQ to check over the cameras to see if they can find the third shooter; Jessica promises she will be all right once they find the last shooter. Back at HQ, Deacon and Jessica interrogate the one shooter, saying his friend Larry had enough Molly in his bag for a party twice that size. He blames everything on the other shooter, claiming not to know him and it looked like the guy was going to rip them off as he held his hand on his gun.

Chris talks to Jim, showing him a picture of Ty, explaining how she isn’t sure she can do it with them. They begin to watch the videos from the party as Street avoids her talking about him taking on so much at SWAT; unfortunately for her Luca and Deacon walk in just as she is talking about Ty and Luca wants to know what happened to Kira, the girl she couldn’t stop talking about a few weeks ago. She ends up telling everyone about being an equal partner in the relationship; Deacon doesn’t look too impressed and returns the conversation to the case.

Deacon tells Jim to stay on the videos as Hondo wants the rest of them to be on Tiffany, everyone suiting up. Robert Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit) stops Luca, informing him the kid he hit is planning on suing them and until they settle this Luca’s driving privileges are suspended; the orders are coming from the Chief because the kid he hit is dating the Mayor’s daughter. Chris is told she’s got the wheel as Luca is not happy he is in the backseat.

Tiffany talks before the camera but wants to reshoot it complaining that people have such low energy. She gets a call from Tristan (Zack Evans) and when Hondo gets annoyed that Tiffany is ignoring SWAT, he takes the phone and hangs up on Tristan while they are still recording. He introduces himself and says they might have to put her into protective custody; she acts out for the cameras promising to make Hondo and his team look so “badass”. None of the SWAT team looks impressed.

Outside. Chris confronts Deacon about his look, saying she knows her family will react the same way; she knows he believes it is immoral. He says if his daughter brought home a couple, he would be worried for her since the couple predates her, and she wouldn’t be part of that marriage; no matter how they try to sell it, he believes Chris is setting herself up for heartache. Chris and Deacon spot someone who fits the description of the shooter, but he bolts and everyone pursues him. He pulls out a gun, but drops it in the alley; Hondo feels he is obsessed and won’t stop until they stop him.

Back at HQ, the team watches as Tiffany releases another vlog, and no one wants to babysit the “princess.” Hondo talks to Luca, who had a perfect driving record until today, never hitting a squirrel. Hondo suggests the best way to get over his problems is to listen to someone else’s, explaining that Street has been doing way too much lately, but he won’t want to hear it from him. Luca lived with Street for months and he really needs his boy back.

Jessica brings in Dr. Wendy Hughes to speak to her niece, Amy; but she seems to be more concerned about Tiffany than anybody. Wendy reassures her that she is safe with SWAT protecting her. Luca goes to see Jim, talking to him about being on top of his game; telling him not to burn the candle at both ends. Jim explains how his mom is living at his place and it’s getting a little expensive moving from place to place. Luca has no idea what he’s been going through, but he isn’t making excuses. Suddenly they spot something on the video.

Jessica asks to talk to Tiffany alone, calling her a con artist, saying her fans are only views and followers to her; reminding her that her niece is traumatized about what happened that morning and she always looked up to Tiffany, but for what? She worships a version of her that doesn’t exist, even her boyfriend is fake. Tiffany says this is the “Tiffany Experience” and she gets comments all the time that her vlogs keep people from slitting their wrists and she is not a completely terrible person; Jessica feels she could be so much more. Chris calls Jessica out, saying they need her!

Jim shows Jessica the video and they have a match to an obsessed fan named Pete Delkes. He has priors of criminal stalking and unlawful discharge of a weapon, which means he shouldn’t have access to a gun. Deacon tells them they need to tac up as this is a “no knock” entry; Hicks informs Luca his driving privileges have been reinstated as Street found a video that confirms his version of events. Luca smiles, asking Chris for the keys.

Hondo knocks at the door, announcing they are LAPD and Pete Delkes tells him to hold up his badge to the peephole; Mike takes a photo and then opens the door. He lets them in, saying he doesn’t need to cooperate with them and does have guns in the house. Hondo reminds him that his son, Pete has priors and is not allowed to have access to any firearms. Mike feels it is impossible that Pete wouldn’t have used his guns; neither Chris nor Tan can find them.

Jessica tells Wendy they can’t find either gun and Pete is still on the loose. She shares that Pete feels him and Tiffany belong together and everyone in her videos are imbeciles; including her sister, Sarah. Wendy believes he could be after the people who are keeping Tiffany from him, like Sarah, JD and the fake boyfriend, Tristan.

Tristan is busy working on his next prank when he hears a noise and Pete comes in from the back. When he calls for Dahlia, Pete wants to know if he is cheating on Tiffany. Tristan realizes he is the guy from that morning and tells him that Tiffany isn’t there; he swears he isn’t dating Tiffany in real life as its only for the followers, he offers Pete money but he shoots him as he notices the police are on to him. He uses Tristan’s thumbprint to gain access to his phone.

SWAT arrives a short time later, finding Tristan dead. Deacon calls Jessica informing her they have a problem. She immediately goes to see Tiffany demanding to know where Sarah and JD are as they believe the shooter is targeting them. She lied about shutting down her events as Tristan suggested doing a Shuttle appearance; Jessica reveals that Tristan didn’t send the text because he is dead.

SWAT and LAPD are directly behind the shuttle bus, where Pete is on the vlog explaining that he is waiting for a million viewers before he shoots Sarah and JD. Jessica orders Tiffany to stay out of the way, but she sends out a message, telling her followers to stop viewing. The numbers begin to climb faster than before and they are over 600,000; Hondo tells Jessica they are not going to reach the spike strip before he shoots them.

Chris wonders if they can do a PIT maneuver with a cruiser, but Hondo feels they can with Black Betty and asks Luca if their truck is nimble enough; he says he can make it. Hondo appreciates him being back in the hot seat as the LAPD cruisers make way for SWAT to move in place; they are waiting for Pete to get the gun off Sarah. While Pete is distracted by the number of viewers, Luca is able to hit the van. SWAT surrounds the van, Tan tells them hostages are in the rear and they can take out the side window; Deacon breaks the window and Chris shoots Pete, saving both hostages.

Jessica comes to see Amy and Wendy who are eating pizza. Wendy is happy to spend time with Amy as she is dealing with an empty nest now that her nieces are off to college. Jessica tells Amy that Tiffany is still there and might do a video with her, giving her more views; Amy is rethinking it feeling she might want to talk about more important stuff suggesting doing a vlog with Jessica.

Luca catches up with Street outside, talking about how hard it was for him to get in SWAT and he needed to see that in him too; but its all water under the bridge. Luca asks him to bunk with him again, telling him about the new place he has and it needs to be fixed up and Jim helped him out when he needed a place. Street says he had him at the first word of that sentence; they hug.

Hondo tells Nia he is thankful for how she handled what happened that night and for not looking at him any different. She says her ex-has a lot of issues, but they only become problems if you refuse to accept you have them or if you refuse to acknowledge you have the weakness like everyone else and aren’t perfect. Hondo shares that he told someone the same thing on his team today. She also suggests that Hondo address the issue because there is no way only one guy wound her up like that and since he got it out of his system, not it’s about keeping it out of his system. He hopes she is right.

Chris talks with Kira and Ty about her day on the job but they finally address the real issue. Chris knows she wants to do this but worried what people would think, revealing she had to deal with it today with someone on her team. Kira said people are surprisingly tolerant, but Chris says he made a valid point about them getting married and it makes her part seem very temporary; Kira continues to reassure her that she will be an equal part of them and is ready to mesh with them.
