Sam and Eddie are on a murder scene late at night. Chris says that it is a victim of a serial killer who kills people, drops them in the woods and draws a symbol on their eyelids. A park ranger noticed a white RV drive away an hour before, but they are still not sure if it is related. There are no other leads. Jay is there, he makes a sarcastic comment about Eddie no longer being on the force and not belonging there. Eddie asks Chris why she called him then, she says because the victim had Eddie’s business card on him.

Nick has looked at the victim and he tells Eddie and Sam that the victim was killed elsewhere and was deposited there. The cause of death was strangulation by a very thin wire. Nick goes to show the wound and when Sam sees the victim, she says it is Ken Hopkins, a client who just hired her and Eddie to find his wife who has been missing for three months.

We get a look back at when Ken visited Eddie and Sam at their office. Ken said that his wife, Allison, had a blood condition and can’t survive without her medication. Ken also has her laptop and he found a video on it, its a video call where his wife is talking to a guy and Ken thinks the guy had something to do with her disappearance.

Eddie wants on the case, Jay is upset, he doesn’t want him anywhere near it but Chris overrides him because Eddie already has Intel and was hired to find Ken’s wife.

Eddie and Sam are back at the office, they have photos of two previous women that were victims before Ken and Allison’s picture and Sam finds it uncanny how all the women look similar.

Eddie and Sam head to go speak to Allison’s brother; he says he wrote off his sister since she has been missing for over three months. Eddie and Sam ask if Allison had any enemies, her brother says that she rented a basement apartment to a grad student and a few weeks before she disappeared she had to evict him.

Eddie and Sam go see the guy she evicted and he says she wanted him out because she wanted to build a safe room. The guy goes to leave and drops a cup he was drinking out of in the garbage when he is gone, Eddie grabs it just in case he needs his DNA.

Eddie gets a text, they found another body, Michael who knew Ken and Allison and also worked at LA Outreach. Eddie and Sam are in the morgue with Chris, she says the same cause of death, same symbol, but this time the victim was attacked while jogging. Nick finds a hair on the victim and it is a long one.

Eddie and Sam head to LA Outreach where both Ken and Allison volunteered. Chris calls Eddie, she has news on a possible killer. The hair is a white male, northern European, likely in his 30 or 40’s. The analysis shows that he took antipsychotics and then upgraded to street drugs.

Eddie and Sam Find out that a man named Phillip was sending Allison little notes at the LA Outreach and he drives a white RV.

Monica and Berto dig into Phillip’s past, he was institutionalized and Sunshine Hill’s Clinic, Monica knows the place, one of her professors’ worked there, she heads there. Monica speaks to her professor and tells her how important it is that they find Phillip.

Monica spoke to a patient and found out that Phillip liked to spend time in the woods at Stone Canyon park; Eddie and Sam head there and find Phillip’s RV. Eddie and Sam head inside the RV and find Phillip hung himself and he is dead.

Eddie goes back to the office, he tells Monica that something just doesn’t make sense about the case. Berto cleaned up the video of Allison, he may be able to find exactly where it was taken, Eddie tells him to do it.

Sam shows up at the office, it is late, Eddie says that he doesn’t believe that Phillip was the killer of all the victims.

Berto figures out that Allison was at her lawyer’s office when she took the video, he heads there with Monica and the secretary tells them that her appointment was on May 3rd, the day she went missing. She remembers the video call that Allison had and says that she made plans to meet the person at a hotel.

Eddie and Sam are with Nick looking at Phillip’s body. The victim’s tendons were severed in his wrists from a previous attempt at suicide, therefore he could not have had the grip strength to hang himself. Eddie gets a call from Berto regarding Allison, he got a video of Allison when she went to the hotel, she met her brother Tim in the lobby.

Eddie and Sam tell Chris and Jay that they think Tim is the real killer. Jay doesn’t believe it and walks away.

Eddie and Sam go to the office and Tim is there, he says he is there to pay them for their services. Sam tells Berto to get Tim a glass of water, he gives him a bottle. Tim offers both Eddie and Sam jobs, then when Sam offers to take the bottle for him, he says he is still thirsty and keeps it.

Eddie and Sam go see the caseworker that took care of Allison and Tim when they were children because they were moved from their home due to their violent father. The caseworker had an old video and it shows Time drawing a symbol which is similar to the one drawn on the victim’s eyelids, but the symbol is actually him drawing his father as a stick figure when he was mad.

Time calls Eddie and asks if he has considered his offer, Eddie says no and hangs up on him. Sam can’t believe that Tim managed to get Eddie’s private number.

Sam is worried, she thinks that Tim might be after her. Eddie escorts her home and goes inside with her. They are in the kitchen, Sam has a baseball bat in hand when she sees a shadow outside. They go outside and find nothing, Eddie offers to stay with her.

Sam asks Eddie why he became a cop, he says because of his father who couldn’t stand up for himself when his store was burned down. Eddie admits to Sam that he misses what being a cop should have been.

Eddie gets a message from Nick to head to the morgue. Nick says the skin cells found on Allison’s earrings were 48 hours old, which means that when they were removed, she was still alive. The skin cells prove that Allison is still alive.

Berto has some information, Allison’s prescription ran out when she disappeared and after that, a new doctor wrote another prescription, he was from Sunshine Hills Clinic.

Tim is with Allison, or so he thought it was Allison, it was Sam and Chris and Eddie are also there, they arrest him.

Jay pulls Eddie to the side and tells him he did a good job.

Eddie and Sam are with Allison in the hospital. Allison says that it is her fault when she got married, she left her brother alone and got swallowed up by the darkness. Eddie asks Allison if she knows where Tim would have taken his victims, is there a secret place that she can think of.

Eddie goes to see Time in jail, he tells him that Allison told him about the house. There is a crime scene there now and they found blood from three of the victims.

THE END!
