Intelligence reached out to Captain Dalton and his team when they learned a nuclear submarine had gotten hacked on tonight’s all-new episode of “The Brave”.

But it hadn’t been an adversary that hacked them. It had been a sixteen-year-old American girl living abroad with her father. The kid had been messing around when she realized she could hack a submarine and so she had just been a dumb kid. Verina didn’t even understand that her actions had repercussion until she later told her father what she did and he saw the problem. Her father worked as an IT Contractor and he knew that someone with his daughter’s skillset could be capable of great and table things if she were ever to land in the wrong hands. So her father had tried to get Verina out of there while they still had time.

The father had told her to pack all her stuff and he had planned on taking her to the nearby military base where he hoped they could look after his daughter properly. But, unfortunately, someone found them first. They were heading down the stairs when the lights all went out and the father knew what was happening, but he hadn’t wanted to frighten his daughter, so he told her to go out through the window like when she was meeting her boyfriend and that he would meet up with her later. So the father knew that someone was going to break into their apartment and that they would most likely kill him so the whole “later” part had merely been his way of ensuring Verina left.

Which she did! Verina hadn’t known that people were going to come looking for her because of what she did or that they would break in her apartment building and so she had believed her father when he said everything was going to be “ok”. But not long after she made her escape, she looked online and found out her father had been murdered for what she did. She was the one that proved that she had a dangerous skillset and so the people that went to the apartment had been looking for her though they weren’t the only ones doing so. The Americans had also realized what danger she was in and so they came across the crime scene before anyone else.

That’s what allowed to move quickly. They then shut down the building and checked everyone that tried to leave because they knew the odds at catching the culprit if he left that building. But they hadn’t expected that they would find a former special agent that was supposed to be dead because Alex Hoffman had allegedly been killed in action several years ago. So what gave him away had been his voice. His ex, Director Campbell, had recognized it and had immediately ordered that he’d be detained at the military base without anyone knowing that they had him in their custody. She said it would be dangerous if it got out and so their prisoner became her chief concern. Not Verina!

Verina was still out there! But looking for her had stopped being a priority for Campbell even if it remained so for everyone else. So the others decided to keep looking for the teenager. They split up with someone staying to watch Hoffman while the others went back to the apartment because they figured Verina could have left something there to tell them where she went, but all they found at the apartment had been her diary and so they used that. In it, she talked about hiding her friendship with Esma from her dad and so they looked for Esma which hadn’t been that hard. The teenager had Verina tagged in most of her photos.

But leaving Amir with Hoffman had taken a toll. Hoffman managed to get in Amir’s head and force Amir to acknowledge a few things he probably never hoped to admit was true, but the fact that Hoffman got him to say it had made Amir realize they were up against a foe they could never beat. Hoffman wasn’t going to reveal anything in interrogation! He would just keep playing mind games until he broke them all down one by one and so Amir warned his team about Hoffman. Hoffman was dangerous and it turns out he could even everything for not just the team – he could also ruin Campbell.

Campbell had been more than his girlfriend. She had also been his handler and was responsible for everything he did out in the field. But when her superiors found out he had gotten most of his intel through torture and bribery, they made her choose. She could either choose her career or her relationship. So Campbell chose her career and she proved so by arranging Hoffman’s execution nine years ago. And so just before she arrived in Turkey, Hoffman told them what they did when they found him alive because if he was going down then he was going to take the director with him yet Dalton hadn’t known that. Dalton and his people had been given nothing on Hoffman or his connection to Campbell.

So the entire team thought finding Verina would be their biggest problem!

THE END!
