Devon asks Julian to meet him at the park. When she arrives he tells her he isn’t moving with Priya. She cannot believe he asked her here on his wedding day. She wants nothing to do with breaking up a marriage. As it is she is quitting her job.
Bell and Marshall meet with Nic and Mina at a building across the street from the ER where they want to build a free clinic. Marshall doesn’t look well. He drops to the floor. Meanwhile, Conrad meets with a patient who has a heart murmur and needs surgery. The daughter is scared she will lose her only parent. Nic arrives and tells Conrad his dad is on the way to the ER. When Marshall arrives he says it is just his Crohn’s. It has flared up. He wants to go to Atlanta General where his doctor is. Bell cannot let that happen. That would look bad.
Bell’s lawyer is waiting for him in the office. He has a taped deposition Bell gave in Lane’s case where he admits he slept with her. His lawyer is angry. This looks bad. Bell assures him Lane will get off.
Marshall meets with a gastroenterologist at Chastain as well as Nic, Bell, and Conrad. He is stable and will be taken care of there. He asks to talk to Conrad alone. He inadvertently tells him how Conrad’s mother left him. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s after. He doesn’t want to be a burden. He only came back to get to know his son.
Devon is dressed in his wedding attire. His mother comes in. Devon is drinking and looking miserable and unsure.
After her boss leaves to go to the gym, Julian steals a security card to get into the lab. When she arrives it is empty with three men sitting around.
AJ meets with the heart murmur patient and offers to perform his surgery today. The daughter is nervous.
Conrad, Nic and the doctor talk to him about having surgery for a perforation in his intestines that could cause his sepsis. He gives Conrad power of attorney. After he leaves the room, Conrad gets upset and tells Nic he doesn’t want to be a power of attorney. He barely knows his father who tells him nothing.
Bell calls his new associate (Julian’s boss) at the medical equipment company. He needs half a million dollars. The two broker a deal where Bell will sit on the board.
Irving senses that Devon is upset about something. His mother comes in and interrupts. She tells him she was not in love with his father at first. There was someone else but for a long time, she laid in bed at night. She wants him to decide for himself and marry the woman who has his heart. She wants him to be happy.
Julian calls into file a complaint about her company.
Bells’ lawyer tells him teaming up with Gordon Page from the medical device company is a bad idea. What does he know about them? Bell doesn’t care, he needs the money.
Nic talks and comforts the family of the man in heart surgery. She tells them he is doing well. Meanwhile, AJ narrates his surgery, irritating Mina. She asks him if he even has a suit for Devon’s wedding.
Conrad visits his dad before heading to the wedding. He asks his dad about his mother. Marshall admits his wife left him for a married man who never left his wife. He regrets that he didn’t make her a priority and him as well. She got worse after that. Conrad asks him about his memories of his mom falling down the stairs. Marshall tells him he never hit his wife or any women. He wouldn’t do that no matter how flawed he is.
Julian stops to meet who she thought was from the FDA but is met by one of Gordon’s men. He brings her to see Gordon who tells her he has friends in the FDA. She calls him on his fake lab, how he is a fraud. He gets in her personal space. She offers to disappear if he leaves her alone. He tells her he gave her an opportunity and she betrayed him.
They all arrive at the wedding. Irving asks the gang if they have seen Devon. Meanwhile, Devon knocks on Priya’s door to tell her the truth. He admits to her that he kissed someone else but didn’t sleep with her. But he cannot marry her. It would be wrong. She tells him to get out. She never wants to see him again. She cannot believe he waited to do this now.
Following heart surgery, the man kisses his grandson and daughter. They are all happy to be together. Meanwhile, Marshall’s BP is dropping. He is having complications. His abdomen is hard and he needs surgery right away. Bell is on.
Devon comes to the front of the wedding hall and tells the group that he isn’t marrying Priya. Meanwhile, Bell gets a page for surgery while Julian takes off in her car. Nic and Conrad dance. Devon gets a page about Conrad’s dad in surgery who is bleeding out. Julian tries to get away from a car chasing her. She drives over the edge of the road and into the woods that drops into a river.
