Tonight on ABC their new series The Rookie premieres with an all-new Tuesday, October 30, 2018, season 1 episode 3 called, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” and we have your The Rookie recap below. On tonight’s The Rookie episode as per the ABC synopsis, “Nolan and Talia lose control of a crime scene, and then debate whether people are fundamentally good or bad and what that means for a police officer. Meanwhile, Lucy is concerned Tim is enabling his wife’s destructive behavior and not taking care of himself.”

John and his OT chase after a bunch of robbers dressed as zombies through several subway cars. It’s a messy capture but they get them.
The officers all meet for their morning meeting. Tim is back after being shot. The captain gives John a hard time for taking down the zombies but losing the cash to a civilian who stole the cash while he was making an arrest.
Tim and Chen get a call, a man is trapped inside the wall of an ATM at the bank after he tried checking it. Tim starts taking out the wall, but then makes Chen do it. It looks like he is still injured.
John and Talia have to escort a fired employee out. Talia keeps telling him not to assume everyone is good. Her point is proven when the woman takes a hammer to her boss’ car in the parking garage.
Angela and Jackson get called to a scene where Angela recognizes a former female ball player. They cuff her and bring her in.
John and Talia head to the home of the man who stole the money on the subway. He admits he spent a little to get his water turned on and buy groceries. He tells them it has been hard since his wife died. He has a son. John doesn’t want to do it, but he takes him into custody. The boy cries while Talia holds on to him.
Later, Talia and John get coffee and talk. She isn’t feeling great about the kid but hides it.
Chen and Tim make a pit stop. She heads to the bathroom. Someone steals her gun and belt. She runs out and tells Tim. He gets an emergency call. He tells her they have to go. He has her belt. They take off.
John and Talia get called to a scene of two teens driving reckless. One of them gets in the cruiser.
Tim shows up to see his wife after she overdosed. He tries to stop her from leaving. Chen finds him punching a wall.
Tim and Chen get called to a scene of fighting bikers. Tim gets out and offers to fight them. If he wins, they go to the station. If not, he wont book them. He fights a prospect while Chen watches with worry. Tim beats him and cuffs him. Chen is disgusted.
Back at the station, John tries to take the blame for the cruiser being unlocked but Talia steps up and admits she did it. Chen is at the station too. She pulls John aside and tells him about Tim. She doesn’t know what to do. John tells her she has to talk to him.
Tim and Chen head out on another call. He tells her to stay in the car. She refuses. He is there to bring narcan to his wife’s house. Chen asks to go after yelling at him that he has been putting her in danger. Tim agrees.
Chen goes up and talks to Tim’s wife, Isabella. She tells Chen she was a narcotics officer after Chen tells her Tim was shot recently. Isabella tells her not to bring him back here. There is no future for them. Back in the car, Chen tells him Isabella admitted she used to be a cop. He thought she was cheating back then but it was drugs.
Angela keeps talking to Jackson about a Plan B for another career. He insists this is his calling. The officers are all brought together for a meeting. They have a special target with several dangerous suspects they need to apprehend. SWAT will head in. They need to stand by.
Outside, they wait. Shots are fired. They all pair up and cover the perimeter. Talia and John engage in a gun fight with the suspects. They take off in a car, John and Talia follow. The car stops. The woman suspect heads into a hospital. They follow. Meanwhile, Chen and Tim get into a gunfight with the other suspect outside. Chen sneaks up on the man. Tim gets him from the side.
John and Talia head to the roof. One of the suspects looks to have stolen the hospital’s helicopter. Talia calls it in as another suspect comes up on John and outs a gun to his head from behind. He tries to talk to her about people being good. Just as she looks to be ready to make a decision, Talia tases her.
Back at the station, John finds out Talia bailed out the father who stole the money on the subway. John wants to hug her.
Grey finally gets to give Tim his “you got shot” speech. Jackson, Chen and John share a beer on the beach.
