The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that a great Y&R fan favorite of the past is back in the news. In 2006 The Young and the Restless fans will remember when Cordelia “Delia” Katherine Valentine Abbott Mitchell (Sophie Pollono) was born in in the Abbott cabin to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson).
Scheming Chloe tried to pass baby Delia off as Cane Ashby’s child (Daniel Goddard) but the truth made it’s way out and it was later revealed that Billy Abbott (Then played by Billy Miller) was the child’s real father.
The Young and the Restless viewers fell in love with this little porcelain doll named Sophie Pollono. Sophie resembled a modern-day Shirley Temple and was a great little actress so when the storyline of Delia’s death came upon us fans were devastated. In 2013 for whatever reason, TPTB felt the need to kill off the character of Delia.
Delia, who in her short life, had beaten Leukemia with a bone marrow transplant, met an untimely tragic death caused by hit and run driver Adam Newman (Then played by Michael Muhney). Billy Abbott left her in the car to get her some ice cream after a school play – but her dog got out and ran into the street! Delia got out of the car was struck by Adam – who did not realize his car struck poor little Delia in the dark, while he swerved to avoid the dog.
Fans were excited when Pollono made a couple of special appearances on Y&R as a ghost, helping her dad get through some rough times – telling him to forgive and to move on in what were heart-wrenching scenes.
Sophie’s portrayal of Delia made your heart smile, she made you feel like you really knew her. Y&R fans watched as she lost her baby teeth, smiling proudly with the big space upfront where her baby tooth used to be. Little Sophie was family to The Young and the Restless, she made Delia real.
Sophie Pollono has blossomed into a beautiful young lady and has continued her television career. CDL is happy to report that Y&R fans will be able to see Sophie again on television. Sophie has scored big and will be appearing in a new Disney Channel action-comedy series called the “Fast Layne” in which she will be playing the lead character, “Layne.” The show is in production and scheduled to air in 2018.
We do not have dates yet but will update you as that information becomes available. Congratulations Sophie Pollono, we’re many Y&R fans will tune in and support your efforts on your new show. Come back to CDL for all of your The Young and the Restless, spoilers, news and updates!
