The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Victor (Eric Braeden) will be devastated to learn that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) has been conspiring with Jack (Peter Bergman) to oust Ashley (Eileen Davidson). A returning Abby (Melissa Ordway) will blow the lid off that flimsy scheme.
The lives of numerous characters are about to be disrupted. Chief among them will be the fictional realities of Ice Queen Victoria and Smilin’ Jack.
J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) had Vickie pegged when he told her that she comes across as insecure. She listens to her one-time and again love who’s arguably a better Vickie Whisperer than Billy (Jason Thompson). However, since this plan has already been set in motion, J.T.’s wise counsel won’t help her much.
As viewers saw, Vickie and Jack prepped paperwork that attempted to make Ashley look like a Jabot mole. The seeming naive approach both characters took is a somewhat implausible part of this storyline. Both people know that Victor and Ashley are highly intelligent and street wise. So the co-conspirators had to know that both targets would be able to determine what happened and who was at fault. But Y&R is asking the audience to super suspend disbelief within this unfolding scenario and thus we roll on.
Victor trusts Ashley, but not Jack. So Vickie’s foolish risk of her own integrity was bet on Jack being the sole target of her father’s wrath, if the truth of this scheme ever came to light. She didn’t count on her sister returning to town, discovering the plot and shouting it out.
Prior to departing for Paris, where she was helping Dina (Marla Adams), Abby had basically been demoted by her father. She’s had time to gather her thoughts since then, as Ordway celebrated the birth of her second child while out on maternity leave.
Abby was Victor’s loyal family soldier while Vickie was allowing Brash and Sassy to slip away in the recent past. Ordway’s character was rightfully outraged that her father would welcome Vickie back to Newman Enterprises for the umpteenth time and then position her sister above herself. So dishing about Vack’s underhanded efforts helps to reinforce loyalty to Victor.
Vickie’s defensive persona came out the moment she returned, which included treating Abby like she was second-rate. That insecure behavior has again been evidenced through Vickie’s plan with Jack.
Jack stands to have his personal life disrupted by what his niece will reveal. The very recent truce between he and Ashley has allowed the siblings to coexist at home.
