The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star just got an early Christmas present. If you’ve been keeping up with the latest Y&R info, you’ve probably heard about Melissa Ordway’s pregnancy. Her due date was in January, but her new baby girl had other plans! Ordway gave birth to a daughter on December 9 and she couldn’t be happier.
Justin Gaston, who played the original Ben on Days of Our Lives, is Ordway’s equally thrilled hubby. The couple was certainly excited to welcome this bundle of joy. Sophie Jolie Gaston joined her big sister, Olivia, as part of this beautiful family.
In an Instagram post, Ordway shared a sweet picture of Sophie along with a caption about the new addition. She was anxious to share the big news with all her fans. Ordway said, “Christmas came early in the Gaston house! Welcome to the world Sophie Jolie Gaston! She surprised us on Saturday, 12/9 at 10:38am weighing in at a tiny 5lbs 5oz.”
Thankfully, Mom and Sophie are doing well. Ordway reassured anybody who might be worried about Sophie’s early debut. “We are all doing great,” Ordway said. “We are so in love.” Now that they’ve safely added one more precious daughter to adore, it’s easy to see why Ordway and Gaston are on cloud nine.
Naturally, Ordway will need some time away from the Y&R set to recuperate and spend time with Sophie. Her maternity leave will give The Young and the Restless with some interesting options. There’s a chance that they’ll just pretend Abby’s in town and phase her out of the current stories until Ordway gets back.
Since Abby and Scott’s (Daniel Hall) cheating scandal is almost ready to spread, Abby might choose to make herself scarce until everything blows over. If she finds she can’t do that in Genoa City, Abby might take a trip until things have settled down back home.
Of course, Abby could also be held hostage somewhere if one of Zack’s (Ryan Ashton) thugs felt particularly loyal to him. Kidnappings are sometimes a good maternity leave solution. Whatever the case, we all wish Ordway the best and look forward to her return to set!
