Danny would have been left in that old elevator shaft if it hadn’t been for Jay. Jay had heard Danny disappeared and he came after him, but what neither of them saw was Lexi. Lexi disappeared and so did Danny’s car. Jay believes those two things were connected. He surmised that Lexi went after Farouk and abandoned Danny. Danny, on the other hand, had a better understanding of Lexi. Lexi was a thief and she was out for revenge. But she wouldn’t have left Danny to die. He knew that something must have happened to her and he wanted to go after her. Danny talked to Jay and he convinced him to at least assist. He said that Lexi could be in trouble and she was going to need them.

Jay still had his beliefs, but he was willing to help a friend and so they went searching for Lexi together. It was suggested that Farouk could have been responsible and Danny had to shoot it down. He noticed that Farouk already drove off when Lexi disappeared and so he didn’t think about who else was searching for Cleopatra. It was actually the Brotherhood of Serapis that grabbed Lexi. They took her to back to their secret quarters and they planned on interrogating her like they would have done to anyone else. There was just one problem with that. Lexi wasn’t like anyone else and she could tell a person by their shape in the dark. She immediately knew that it was Fabi grabbed her and she never once gave him the chance to deny it.

Fabi and the Brotherhood did kidnap her. They grabbed Lexi and left Danny to die because out of the two of them it was Lexi they thought could work with. The Brotherhood wants Qarim Farouk dead. They knew that Danny would never go along with that and they thought Lexi did. Lexi wants revenge for her father who was brutally killed by Farouk and so they thought there was nothing that she wouldn’t do, but they were wrong. She didn’t like working with secret sects. Lexi told Fabi that she could kill Farouk on her own and Fabi told her quite bluntly that the Brotherhood could also kill her. She was dealing with a secret group that’s been around for thousands of years and they have killed whoever has gotten in their way.

Fabi told Lexi that she could take up this offer or she could disappear and so naturally she chose to take the offer. Lexi also threw in how she couldn’t do this without Danny. Danny and Lexi make a great team and they wouldn’t have gotten this far if it weren’t for each other. So Lexi convinced Fabi to let her work with Danny and she now has to find a way to do so without letting Danny know what’s really going on. Danny had made it back to Rome and he was still searching for answers on Lexi’s disappearance when she just showed up out of the blue. She said she had to walk for hours to get help and that she saw cops when she cam back. Lexi claims that she had to hike it back to Rome on her own and that she now wants to relax.

Danny chose to believe her and he told her all about a party that he was invited to. It has an open bar and it gave him a chance to check in with Jay. Jay had bribed his way into receiving the only available log on the Sauber Depot and he wanted Danny to use it to find Cleopatra. Before they could get down to business however, Jay was being honored for returning Egyptian artifacts back to Egypt and hence the party. Danny and Lexi went to the party at the Egyptian consulate and right away Danny knew Lexi was up to something. She wasn’t at the bar like she said she was going to be and she wasn’t networking. Lexi was merely roaming around and so Jay suspected she was casing the place.

Danny didn’t know what to think. He was just as suspicious, but he knew Lexi and he knew if nothing else she would never work with Farouk. Farouk was the real there here. He even proved it when he hit the transfer vehicle and killed off Jay’s security detail. It didn’t seem like Farouk had taken anything because the relics were still there and so Danny asked to see them for himself. He checked them and he realized that the relics they thought they had were fakes. Farouk must have switched out the real things for the fake ones and to make things worse no one could tell the Egyptian government what happened. It would be a diplomatic disaster if they thought their relics were finally being returned to them only for them to be stolen again.

Danny knew the spy in Egyptian government may have played a part and so Lexi let him in on certain things. She found out from her new friends the Brotherhood that they had a lead on the spy. They believe it was Minister Ghazal. Ghazal had been at the party and Danny just thought he was a happy drunk. It turns out Ghazal could afford to be happy because he had been working with Farouk and must have gotten rich thanks to being a spy. Ghazal also invited Danny to Egypt and so Danny told Lexi about it. He said that if he could derail Ghazal then she could break into the man’s office to go through his files. It didn’t sound like it was Danny’s style, but he wanted to prove to Lexi that she could trust him and trust that he won’t judge her for having dodgy contacts.

That’s how Lexi phrased it. She told him that her contacts weren’t always good people and that she didn’t want him to get wrapped in whatever they were doing, but she didn’t count on Danny’s drive to find Cleopatra overcoming his usual good sense. He talked Lexi into breaking into Ghazal’s office and together they came up with a plan. They landed in Cairo and Danny invited Ghazal to drinks. The minister thought it was an important meeting and he ready was to leave when he saw that it wasn’t. Danny had to think on his feet and so the best he could come up with was accusing Ghazal of working with Farouk. He threw in that name and then “grilled” Ghazal about what he did or didn’t know.

Ghazal was then “cleared” by Danny and Danny got to meet up with Lexi. She had found something in Ghazal’s possession. She found a letter written from Farouk to her late father and it alleges that her father was funding Farouk before they fell out. It didn’t make sense to Lexi because she thought they introduced her father to such a dangerous man. Now that she knows differently, she’s wondering what she else she was wrong about and she attempted to show Danny what else she found in Ghazal’s office. She was showing him her phone when they were attacked and robbed by the Brotherhood. It turns out they didn’t trust Lexi to leave her with pivotal information and so they grabbed her phone knowing she copied everything she saw onto it.

Lexi had felt betrayed afterwards, but she couldn’t say anything about it to Danny and so she chose to lie. She said her contacts went dark and that they might have led the Brotherhood to them. It was the only thing she was willing to say on the matter and so Jay has to accept it. Only he didn’t like it. His own contacts that had the Nazis’ log on the depot had gotten hit and the logs were the only thing that was taken. It seemed that the Brotherhood was targeting everyone that might have information on Cleopatra and so Ana Castillo had had enough. She believed Cleopatra to be cursed and she didn’t want anything else to happen.

Ana said she was no longer going to look for it or even assist her friends in helping them find out. She was instead getting out of town and she was advising them to do the same.

THE END!
