Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a big return is in the works. Thanks to some insider leaks, DOOL fans had already been buzzing about the possible return of Kristen DiMera (last played by Stacy Haiduk). Kate Mansi (Abigail Deveraux) just posted a fun pic from the studio that confirms the news.
It just goes to show you can’t keep a sneaky DiMera down for long! Kristen can never resist coming back to Salem and stirring up trouble. Of course, we have to point out that Eileen Davidson has left The Young and the Restless. Depending on when Days set this in motion, Davidson could’ve been contacted about a return.
It’s possible Davidson declined, so they turned to Stacy Haiduk once more. On the other hand, Haiduk did a nice job during her last run. She was a solid version of Kristen, so maybe DOOL just decided to go with her again.
Davidson has made her stance known to the NBC soap in the past. She doesn’t want to be locked in for lengthy stints, so that may have been a factor. Davidson was asked about a potential Days of Our Lives comeback in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. Her response suggested that Haiduk was the way to go for this stint.
“I’m not sure what I can say about that because I don’t want to jeopardize anything they have going on over there,” Davidson said. “I didn’t want to go back to a long-term contract, and that was put out there. It just doesn’t make sense for my life right now.”
It sounds like Davidson couldn’t talk about a possible return as Kristen because Haiduk’s return is already cooking. The contract stuff also makes it seem like she told them where she stood, and they had to go with Haiduk because she’s willing to stick around. Haiduk was thrilled to step in as a recast last time. She’s probably willing to shoot as much as Days needs.
Regardless, it should be great to see Kristen back on canvas. Which unlucky Salemites will she go after next? Will Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) become her next target or will Kristen find someone else to torture? Will Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) face another round of revenge? Days of Our Lives spoilers say some exciting twists and turns are ahead, so stay tuned.
As for Mansi, her latest photo shows her with Haiduk and Nadia Bjorlin, who recently confirmed her departure as Chloe Lane. Mansi only signed on a for a short-term stint, so we know she was off set for quite some time. Due to DOOL’s advance filming schedule, Abigail’s scenes are still airing. Mansi’s been back at the studio for at least one return popup since then, but she’s also been back for some DOOL app interviews and social calls.
Mansi didn’t make it clear if she was there to party or to work this time, but we’ll give you updates as other news comes in. Whatever the case, it’s nice to have confirmation that Kristen’s headed back to town! Based on Haiduk’s outfit and hairstyle, it’s easy to this wasn’t just a friendly visit for her.
