Vanessa wants to sit in the police chair, as it is better for her back and Jo quickly accommodates her. She knows that Jo is the boss lady; giving her away in to discuss Vanessa being supermom. She asks the FBI to hand her pocketbook; admitting she didn’t talk to her in 20 years or so. She allows them to take her photos, as Jo says she has been extremely helpful and they dismiss her. Jo calls in Chris, showing him the photos and asking if he knew Emily’s mother since she knew his name. In one of the pictures, Emily is there at the age of 10 and she is a spitting image of Piper.

Benny and Alan bicker as they have a flat tire. Alan tells him about the trees around them being chestnut trees but none of them were producing nuts until one day someone brought over a Japanese chestnut; it spread like a fungus throughout the country and destroyed all American Chestnut trees. Benny demands to know if there is a point to the story as Alan explains that the Ai is only the beginning of a long line of unintended consequences and it is only a matter of time before humans are extinct. Benny thinks Alan can solve this but Alan says Benny has a backbone and he is the only one who can fix this; Benny leans down feeling this is ridiculous and Alan smashes him over the back of the head.

Alex cannot understand where they are, as there are all model homes. Piper gets him to stop in front of one as she climbs out. The two walk the cul-de-sac and walk up the steps of a house that has broken flower pots everywhere. Once inside, there are toys, junk, and water; there is a huge hole in the back wall. Piper reveals she was running from there as they were chasing her but couldn’t find her; that is why she was alone for a long time. It was scary and he acknowledges her terror, removing her from the home.

Jo receives a call, learning that Vanessa did receive a call from Augur Industries as she arrives at the warehouse. Jo cautiously walks up to the building that looks ragged outside but beautiful and polished inside. She finds a laboratory that is all covered, squeamish when she spots a tiny human arm in a specimen jar. She orders Emily to put her hands up and arrests her as she threatens about revealing to everyone about Piper. Emily smiles, laughing as she wants Jo to test her. She is appalled that Jo would ask for a favor. Jo tells Emily that Piper looks exactly like her and if she wants to give Piper the life that she didn’t get to have; Piper has a shot so Emily needs to do this. Jo wants to know why she killed her father and now she wants to destroy everything he built. Emily persists she only did one of those things, but when they hear a noise, Jo draws her firearm.

There is a whole crew of people walking down the hallways. Emily has no idea who they are, but they are well prepared; Jo doesn’t know who they are either. They follow the crew down the hallway with Jo’s gun drawn. She notices that they are placing explosive devices, explaining to Emily that they need to get out of there immediately, but finds out they are in the computer room and need to get out now. Jo uncuffs Emily, asking her to make the time go faster.

At home, Alex brings Piper inside; apologizing to her. Piper knows that Jo knows about the place and probably what it means. Alex informs her that Jo told him it would be dangerous if Piper found out about the place. He knows Jo would prefer, to tell the truth, so he does believe her. Piper says she is tired of not knowing; both feeling Jo might not feel they understand. He comforts Piper saying that isn’t her home, but this is. She nods.

Jo pockets the explosive with the different timer and slides it towards the men, quickly running as it explodes in the hallway; Jo and Emily dash for the door but are stopped by FBI Agent Brian Brooks. He tries to halt them until the explosions continue and they have to work together to escape. The EMTs arrive as Jo and Brian are taken care of. She has a lead on Emily’s whereabouts and is sorry she didn’t tell him as the protocol was not her strong suit. He wants to know why she wants to get to Emily first, Jo lying saying Emily was her CI and hoped she would come in quietly with her. He likes that she is in custody now and looks forward to what she has to say. Jo looks at his vehicle with concern as he drives away.

Jo removes the bandage covering her cut by her eye as she prepares for Mia’s party. Chris learns from Jo that the warehouse blew up and Emily is in custody. She isn’t happy that Emily is in federal custody and doesn’t think they will be working with the FBI anymore. She is able to say someone new is causing the destruction of the Industries; both choosing to put this in the winning column.

The girls go upstairs to enjoy Mia’s birthday as the adults gather around outside, enjoying the night. Alex sneaks away to see Jo in the kitchen. She says she is okay, but he knows she is in pain from the cut. She insists it is nothing, thanking him for the place looking so great. She admits to being working on something, a way of telling him everything. He reveals he and Piper spent the day together and have come to an understanding. He laughs, saying it kind of sucks not knowing everything. He reminds her that she needs to trust him, which she says she does.

After the party, Jo leaves a message for Benny, explaining that he needs to call her about the weird, new developments. The women joke about how they love how the men disappear when it is time to clean up. Mia says the party was perfect, as her parents weren’t hovering over them. Piper is asking about the present Jo got her; it said “To Piper. Love mom!” Jo realizes something is wrong and goes in search of Piper. Piper is outside when Jo finds her. Alex stops her as Piper is suddenly glowing and then it stops again. Piper calls out for Jo, showing her the coin that told her what she is. Piper thinks she is okay, wondering if her mom is okay too. Jo reassures her, as Alex looks on shocked and confused.

At the motel, Alan walks into his room and immediately turns on the shower. Unfortunately for him, a woman is in the room, telling him that he took what didn’t belong to him. She stabs him in the throat, saying, “you knew enough!” and kills him.

THE END!
