A jogger found a dead body on her usual run. She had called it in to the police and the police later alerted the FBI because of where the victim died. The victim died on federal land. Federal land means federal agents and so Maggie and OA when to go check it out. They arrived on the scene knowing they first had to check in with the detective working the case. The detective had been there first and so he knew more than the agents. He knew for example that the victim died from an odd wound. It was suspected that the victim was killed by a hammer.

The victim’s name was Brad Hughes. His last call has been to his girlfriend and she was heartbroken to find out what happened to him, but she quickly threw the suspicion on the ex. Brad was technically still married. He and his ex-wife were going through a bitter divorce and it was getting uglier by the day. His ex-wife wanted a hundred thousand a month in child support. She was fighting for the money when Brad died and now she inherits everything. Maggie and OA later spoke with the wife.

Lydia had apparently cheated on her husband with a construction worker. The guys she cheated on him with were Cam Buckley and Cam had a record. He had a DUI as well as an aggravated assault on his record. The man was known for his short fuse and so he became the prime suspect. The agents had also found out Lydia had an alibi for the night in question and Lydia said that Cam stayed home by himself. Cam actually arrived at the house while they were questioning Lydia and he fled the scene when he saw the federal agents.

Luckily, they caught up with him in the end. Cam was arrested and he was questioned about the whole fleeing thing. He said that he knew he was suspect. He didn’t want to be stitched up for what he didn’t do and that’s why he tried to run. Cam also said that he had an alibi. He was hooking up with his ex-girlfriend that night because he said he wanted to be around his own people for once and didn’t want to put up with Lydia’s pretentious lifestyle. And so Cam was soon ruled out as a suspect and the agents were back at square one.

They didn’t know who killed Brad. They went through his personal files and saw that this Wall Street guy had reached out to federal investigators. It seems he suspected someone of insider trading. Brad had called the investigator and he said he had information. He had also wanted to set up an appointment with the guy, but he was killed before that could happen. Kristen and her partner followed this thread. They found out someone working with Brad had received a rare chance to make millions and so they grilled him until they got answers.

They found out he received a tip from a mysterious woman. She told the wall street guy how he could make money fast and he fell for it because his greed blinded him to common sense. He technically broke the law as he was getting money and so Brad could have been trying to take him down. Only there was another suspect in the picture. Brad had had a virus on his computer. It turns out the virus was monitoring him as well as his transaction. Brad eventually found out about it. He then worked on removing the virus. He seems to have removed it recently and so the agents investigated who planted the virus in the first place.

The agents were able to trace the origins of this virus. They found out when it was placed on the computer and worked from there. It seems to have happened when Brad went out to dinner. Maggie and OA checked out a restaurant. He had gone there with his laptop and when he stepped away to take a call – his girlfriend Elena had planted the virus. She had fooled the agents earlier with her grieving girlfriend act and now they know she had been up to something sinister. Elena Bondar arrived at the states a year ago on a visa and she quickly attached herself to Brad.

The agents now knew it wasn’t because of his personality. They soon assigned Elena as their chief suspect and they did their best to track her down. Unfortunately, Elena pulled a disappearing act. They couldn’t find her and so they went through her last movements before she disappeared. It was while they were doing this that they learned that she contacted an investment banker. The investment banker was actually another one of her boyfriends. The agents warned the guy to check his files and they scared him into thinking rationally,

The guy knew he couldn’t protect Elena anymore. He told them that she went to the Hamptons and they later found Elena because of it and the first thing Elena told them was that she was innocent. She said that she had been threatened into sleeping with these investment bankers. She was beaten and raped into submission by the modeling agency that gave her a visa. Then when they had her under their control, they told her to start sleeping with men with money. It was her job to spy on them. She was supposed to pass on any tips she received to her handler. Her handler was someone known as Jane.

Elena didn’t know Jane’s last name. She was just as afraid of her as she was of the men and so she never questioned her handler or the part she was forced to play. It was fine at first. It didn’t become a problem until Brad found out about that virus. Brad had confronted her when he found out what she did. Brad was even going to turn Elena over to the police. It hadn’t mattered to him why she was spying on him. Brad was simply going to turn her over to the authorities no matter what she said or did and so Elena panicked. She called Jane because she thought Jane could fix it all.

The next thing Elena hears is that Brad is dead. She thinks Jane played a part in it and so she told Maggie and OA everything she knew about Jane. They used what she told them and were even able to track down Jane, but she had been murdered before they got there. It seems the human traffickers were cleaning the house. They didn’t want Jane informing on them so they killed her. They would have probably killed Elena as well only they didn’t know where she was. She was taken into federal custody and was safe from them.

The rest of the women weren’t. Elena wasn’t the only woman smuggled out of Albania for this investment scheme and so the agents tried to track down the criminals behind it. They used the description of tattoos to identify one man possibly involved in the scheme and they were also working off a tip OA received. So, they sent Elena in as bait. They had her approach this man and say that she couldn’t get into contact with Jane. They then watched as the criminal panicked. He grabbed Elena and was going to drag her out of the bar when the FBI confronted him.

Maggie was forced to shoot the suspect, but they found things back at his apartment and it led them freeing the other women that were being held captive. And so everything should have been alright, except OA received some help on the Albanian criminal search.

He got some details from his girlfriend who happens to be a federal prosecutor and now he was going to get in trouble for sharing information.

THE END!
