General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about a GH alum. Cameron Boyce, who portrayed Michael “Stone” Cates Jr. on General Hospital: Night Shift in 2008, has passed away at age of 20.

Cameron was born on May 28, 1999, in Los Angeles, California. Despite his young age, he was a prolific actor, appearing in numerous television series and movies throughout his career. He was well-known for appearing in various Disney Channel shows, including the “Descendants” series.

Cameron was also known for appearing as one of Adam Sandler’s children in “Grown Ups” and “Grown Ups 2.” His breakout role was as Luke on the Disney TV series “Jessie,” which ran for four seasons.

At the time of his death, Cameron was filming a new HBO show called “Mrs. Fletcher.” He also had a TV series called “Paradise City” and a movie called “Runt” in post-production.

TMZ has reported that the actor was unable to be revived after EMTs rushed to his home, and his family reports that he had an ongoing medical condition and died in his sleep as the result of a seizure.

The family released a statement saying, “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”

The statement continued: “We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”

Adam Sandler took to Twitter to express his feelings about Cameron’s passing. Adam spoke well of his co-star, adding “Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”

And Antonino Sabato, Jr. (Jagger Cates, GH), expressed his thoughts about the loss as well: “Rest in peace Cameron Boyce, it was an honor to have worked with you and spend our time together. Man my heart is broken, what an amazing kid with an amazing future. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. We will all miss you.”
