Meri had been upset when the family couldn’t help her with the loan. The loan was important to her and it was part of her journey to reclaiming a piece of her family history. Meri wanted to get the house so much that she found a way to do it on her own. She went ahead with the sale and she didn’t tell her family. They had to hear it from someone else and there lies the problem. The family prefers to operate as a family. The adults like to talk amongst themselves about financial situations and the risks involved. It was why they weren’t exactly turning Meri down when she came to the loan, but they were more trying to push the decision down the line or Kody was trying to get negotiate a better deal for this loan.

Kody had wanted a percentage of the business in return for the loan and he had gotten into an argument with Meri about it because that wasn’t the loan she wanted. She wanted a short-term loan and she planned on it paying all of the money back. Meri didn’t want to just to take the money. She was going to repay in full and then the business was going to be just hers. It was what she always wanted for herself. Meri hadn’t agreed with Kody’s plan and that’s why she went ahead with a loan through the bank, but the way she cut the family out of the deal entirely and they hadn’t known when she bought this house hadn’t been good. They thought that Meri was using the situation to distance herself yet again.

Part of the reason Meri was catfished was that she distanced herself. She became an empty-nester when no one else did and so she tried to find friends online. Meri ended up with meeting the wrong person who took advantage of her need to bond with someone, but she didn’t have to shut herself away with a computer. She could have easily have walked to someone else’s house or agreed to watch the kids. Meri did neither of those things and that’s what her daughter Mariah is holding against her. Meri took some of the blame for what happened and she’s apologized for it to her husband as well as her sister wives. It was when it came to her daughter that there was a problem. Mariah was first really angry and then she didn’t want to talk about it.

Meri used to be close to her daughter and she believed the only way to get that back was to finally deal with the problem. Their relationship has since improved from when Mariah first heard about me, but it wasn’t like before. She wasn’t the person Mariah to came to her first with things and she wanted to fix their relationship. Meri thought her new friend Christie could even explain what it was like to be caught up in this and how it takes a toll, but again Mariah didn’t want to deal with it and she revealed the reason she didn’t want to go talk about it was because she didn’t want to go back to being angry. Mariah was around when everything went down and she had tried to warn her mother not to share information with people she met online.

It made Mariah emotional to think about it, but she buried the conversation because she wanted her mother to apologize for the part she played and she couldn’t get over it until Meri apologizes. She could have said this to her mother only it turns out they were a lot alike. Mariah bottled what she was feeling and told everyone other than her mother. Meri could see that the conversation didn’t change anything and so she came up with the best way to lessen the tension. She mentioned that Ysabel had a dance she was getting ready for and everyone went over to Christine’s to see Ysabel before she left. She had been beautiful and she hadn’t mind showing off her Scoliosis in the dress because she felt confident.

Everyone even got the chance to laugh because they were all making fun of Kody for thinking Ysbael’s dress was immodest when it was anything but. It had been a great way to cut the tension and things soon returned to the status quo. Therefore, the only thing that came between then and when everyone had found out about the house had been a small announcement. Meri did at least bring the family together when she learned she didn’t need to borrow money. He cousin who was acting as her reality broker had found a way for her to pay a smaller down payment and that allowed her to go through the sale without a problem. It was when Meri signed the documents and moved in her mother that got everyone riled. They all learned about the sale when two strangers approached Janelle one day and congratulated the family.

It seems the fans have been following Meri’s story. They then got a little too excited and shared the news with Janelle who then shared it with Christine. The sister wives wanted to know why they had been cut out of the process. They had been supportive of Meri and they wanted to be there to help with the house. Only as it turns out, Janelle and Christine had been the only ones left out of the loop. Meri had informed Kody and she wanted Kody to inform the others. She had been hanging out with Robyn when she ended up talking about it and so that’s how Robyn learned of this. She actually found out about it after Meri had moved her mother in and she hadn’t said anything back when she first learned of it but she had been hurt. She thought they were going to help her with this stuff and had felt left out when it happened all without her knowing.

Now was the time for it and so Robyn mentioned how she felt. She said she was hurt and she and the others wanted an explanation from Meri. Meri said that she initially wanted everyone together when she told them the news, but then she had to move her mother in a hurry and had needed to ask Kody for his help and so that’s when she thought the cat was out of the bag. Kody had been busy with work and so he had to tell Meri “no”. Then he forgot about it and failed to mention it with the others. Kody also believes that Meri mostly wanted his help and eventually ruled everyone else out when she couldn’t get him to assist with the house. He also thought the whole thing was childish and had more or less dismissed himself from the conversation.

Meanwhile, Meri was scrambling to come up with excuses. She said she didn’t want to bother them and that they all had kids that needed them. Meri also thought they wouldn’t care about the details, but what had worried her was how she fit in with the family. She thought she wanted to go and do things on her own without having to explain herself when the truth was she was afraid of rejection. It didn’t matter how much her sister wives tried to reassure or what they said. Meri would always judge how she fits into their family based on her relationship with Kody. Kody was the one that Meri was hoping would be supportive and the fact he hadn’t gotten that is just one of the many reasons why Meri doubts her own worth in her relationship with her family.

Meri went on to accept their help and they later helped her move furniture to her B&B!

THE END!
