Tonight on the CW the series Supergirl airs with an all-new Sunday, May 12, 2019, season 4 episode 21 and we have your Supergirl recap below. On tonight’s episode called, “Red Dawn” as per the CW synopsis, “Kara comes face to face with Red Daughter and the two engage in an epic battle. Determined to find a way to extract the Harun-El, Lena turns to an unlikely source for help – Lillian Luthor.

Alex tells Kelly about feeling like something is off with Kara. Meanwhile, Kara is being taken hostage at the White House by her doppelgänger. Back at the DOE, Lena tells Alex and Brainy what Lex has been up to and all about Red Daughter who looks just like Supergirl. They come up with a plan that includes Brainy telling Dreamer he is in love with her.
The Red Daughter has Supergirl tied up. They talk about Lex, Supergirl tells her that Lex is tricking her, but the Red Daughter doesn’t see that. Supergirl gets up enough strength and breaks out of her chains with Kryptonite, telling Red Daughter she has been fighting kryptonite for years while the Red Daughter has only been dealing with it for months. After freeing herself, Supergirl escapes by breaking through a glass window.
Supergirl visits Martian for help. He takes the bullet out of her arm. She vents about all of the plotting Lex has been up to. She needs to tell Alex. Martian warns that telling Alex could make her go insane after he washed all of her memories. Brainy arrives to tell them Alex is going after Red daughter.
Lena tricks her mother into helping rid Lockwood of his powers while she heads out to find Lex. Meanwhile, Supergirl visits Alex to tell her how POTUS is working with Lex. Supergirl also wants to help her on her dangerous mission.
Lena pays Lockwood a visit to tell him about POTUS and Lex in cahoots. He cannot believe it. He itches his head and loses some hair. It looks like the serum he took is starting to make him deteriorate.
Brainy comes face to face with Dreamer. He can’t seem to tell her what he feels. He focuses on figuring out the back story on a keychain Martian has found. Dreamer has a vision of the key chain. They head to an industrial yard where aliens are being taken Into custody. Dreamer sees the girl from her vision. Brainy transforms himself into a Lockwood look-alike to get them in. It doesn’t work as one of the guards exposes him. They are taken into custody. Martian watches from a distance.
Alex and Supergirl tell Haley all about POTUS and Lex. Meanwhile, Brainy tries to protect Dreamer. When it looks as though he can’t, he becomes angry and reverts back to the ways of his emotionless ancestors. After he takes out several guards, he tells an approaching Martian that he is now free.
Supergirl heads out alone on a mission after telling Alex to stay behind. Seconds later, Supergirl looks around Red daughter’s bedroom. She has been stocking Supergirl this entire time.
Martian asks Brainy if he is all right now that he has switched into a less emotional person. Meanwhile, Lena and Jimmy come upon Lockwood and Lex’s right-hand man talking before they get into a physical struggle.
Brainy leaves Dreamer and Martian behind to work on a mission. Meanwhile, Alex finds Supergirl who talks about Kara and trying to protect her sister from the danger. Alex’s mom calls to say that Kyra has arrived safe – it is Red Daughter. Supergirl rushes there.
Supergirl and Red Daughter go toe to toe. Alex arrives. Watching the battle, she has flashbacks of her and Kara. Supergirl is taken down and injured. Red daughter escapes. Alex throws herself on Supergirl begging her not to leave. Seconds later as Alex and their mom watch, Supergirl comes back to life.
Lena rushes Jimmy back to the lab after he is injured. Lena’s mother helps save Jinny’slife to Lena’s surprise.
Back at home, Alex and Supergirl watch the news as POTUS announces Lex Luthor has saved the world from harm by killing Supergirl. They watch a picture of Lex flash across the screen as he holds Red Daughter.
