The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers has some great news to pass on about a popular B&B actress. Katrina Bowden, who portrays Florence “Flo” Fulton on the CBS soap, has landed a role in an upcoming movie!
Deadline has reported that Katrina will star in a more called “Mickey Kelley,” which will also star Sean Patrick Flanery and Dennis Quaid. The film is set in 1990 and follows Mickey Kelley, one of the first American black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
According to Deadline, the main character Mickey gets pulled into an unsanctioned mixed martial arts tournament, but his dreams come to a quick halt when he makes a split-second decision. His life then spirals out of control, until years later he gets a chance at redemption.
Bowden Will Play The Role Of Layla In New Film Mickey Kelley
Actual mixed martial arts fighters Renzo Gracie, Edson Barboza, and Mickey Gall will appear in the movie as well. The film will be produced and distributed by Forrest Films. Alex Ranarivelo will direct.
Ali Afshar, who co-runs Forrest Films, said this of the movie: “Forest Films is drawn to material and stories that lead with the heart and tell a tale of perseverance through conflict and struggle. Mickey Kelley checks those boxes and even creates new ones for us that will differentiate and elevate the film in the marketplace.”
Bowden will be playing the role of “Layla” in the movie, and she’s been posting updates on her Instagram feed during filming.

Several days ago, she posted a photo still from the movie along with the following message: “Wrapped a very cool movie that I’m super excited to tell you more about #90s #jiujitsu #mma”
And more recently, she posted another update about the movie, saying: “New new…really love this one. Any jiu jitsu or mma fans out there…you’re going to love this one too. #90s #mma #jiujitsu @forrestfilmsofficial @spflanery”
