Chen has an awful dream and wakes in the front of the squad car. Tim and several other officers are laughing outside the squad car while taking pictures. The night shift is killing her.
The next morning, John teases Chen. He heard and Tim had t-shirts made of her sleeping. She is over it. Now she is worried she is going to be without a home. They are turning her apartment into condos. John offers her a couch. At the meeting, John, Chen, and Jackson are lectured on accepting free stuff as cops. They all agree that they wouldn’t take advantage of their power.
Tim and Chen get a call to a clinic. Embryos were stolen. They track them down to an angry woman whose wife left her for a yoga instructor. Angry, she stole her eggs. They arrive at the home and Tim talks the woman into giving the eggs back.
Talia and John pay a suspect a visit who they think is linked to a stabbing. Meanwhile, Angela and Jackson work on a dine and dash dater who keeps leaving women with expensive bills.
Talia and John arrive to find their suspect dead on the floor of his apartment. They discover he was killed by an undercover officer who is in the middle of pulling off a huge bust. He can use their help. They head back to the station to update the team and get ready to head out on the mission.
Dressed in their tactical gear they get the signal and head in to search the place. Several men flee while they get the others on their knees. The chief sends Chen, John, and Jackson in to watch a large amount of money. While they watch it they talk about what they would do with all the money.
The rookies get to leave after the money counters arrive. They all head home for the night but are brought in early when the captain tells them she is being told $250k is missing from the money the night before. They all look shocked.
The three of them submit to a polygraph. Jackson admits he ate some expensive dessert for free during their dine and dash case. John and Chen made it through. Later, the captain and chief come out to tell them they all passed.
Jackson and John head back to John’s for a beer. Chen calls. She is worried they are all going to be in trouble if the money isn’t found. Calling from her car, she complains about someone driving too close to her when the car rear ends her. Another car stops her. John and Jackson hear it all and leave to get to her. Several men shoot at Chen who shoots back and runs into the nearby woods. She stops to shoot back at two men. Jackson and John arrive. They don’t know which way to go in the woods but pick a path and run.
Three men corner Chen. They take her gun. They want their money. And they want to send a message. Chen recognizes the leader’s shoes. She calls him out on seeing him the other night before the raid. He shoots one of his men and misses the other who runs off. John and Jackson arrive. Chen asks them what took so long.
Back at the station, they are all complimented on their good work. The captain heads to the hospital to meet with the undercover cop. She arrests him after she tells him she knows he was in on the missing money. Meanwhile, Chen finds a place to live while John tells his friend he can no longer live with him for free. He needs to pay rent.
