The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a big recast has been announced. Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV has been a hot topic on Y&R for months, so many viewers wondered if the character would make a comeback. Now we know Chance is indeed returning to Genoa City, but he’ll have a brand-new face.
On Instagram, Donny Boaz confirmed that he scored the part of Chance – and it’s clear that he’s thrilled. Boaz had to keep the news under wraps for a while, but now the secret’s out! “Soooo… this happened,” Boaz said in his post, which included a pic of The Young and the Restless logo. “I signed a multi-year deal and have now been working on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for 6 weeks. And now, I finally get to share it with my friends and family.”
Boaz went on to discuss more about his specific part and what it’s been like to join the cast. This is Boaz’s first soap opera rodeo, so he’s definitely seen how demanding the schedule can be. “I will be playing Chance Chancellor. It’s been a fun and amazing ride so far. Easily the hardest, fast paced job I’ve ever had and it’s as equally rewarding. I feel so very thankful and grateful for this new journey.”
Boaz thanked his manager and agents before sharing his first airdate, which will be November 8. He added that Young and the Restless fans should “definitely tune in” during the week of November 11-15. Thanks to Chance’s comeback, the action will really heat up. Boaz promised that “the stories are getting good,” so let’s hope some exciting things are in the works!
Although this is Boaz first experience with a daytime drama, you might’ve seen him in TV movies like A Sister’s Secret or Hometown Christmas. Boaz has also been featured on shows like NCIS: New Orleans, Lucifer and Mercy Street. It’ll be interesting to see Boaz’s spin on Chance once he makes his November 8 debut.
